i would also like to ask dirtyharry if he is pleased that sunday collections were taken away, as many nerds were raising money this way too, and i suppose you will campaign against night workers starting before midnight on sundays and oppose packet deliveries over xmas on a sunday ? all nerds working on a sunday i presume! or is it ok for some to earn on a sunday and not others? i will leave you to be the judge and tell me whats ok and whats not ok to do on a sunday.

No. Those two w*****s who were delivering D2Ds today, SUNDAY, are the sort of w*****s setting the job back years, and ultimately make it harder
for those who do their jobs properly to do so without some idiotic DUM saying, "Well, if Mr. Shitforbrains can do it, why can't you?, blah, blah, blah."
Those two morons, and many others like them, we can well do without, thankyou very much. :cool

As your post was such a robust defence of those two nerds, may I ask just one question, you weren't, in a roundabout sort of way, owning up to being
one of 'em, were you? :Very Happy

I oppose giving aid and comfort to the enemy, RM mis-management. Yes, I am pleased Sunday collections were taken away, and yes I would be
mightily pissed off with any driver who "volunteered" to temporarily resume them over the festive period, only to see them stopped again until management decide to yank our chain once more.
As for deliveries, any moron who decides to work on a Sunday should be shot, how feckin' hard up do you have to be, eh? D2Ds?

There are quite a few in our office that, despite the magnificent rewards available for doing dtd's, still find the task beyond them either to complete physically or plan sensibly a delivery of what amounts to bits of paper with no addresses to read.

There are also a few people who keep them out of trouble by taking the work off them and because the DOM allows this symbiotic relationship to flourish - they get the financial reward for it.

If some staff can afford to throw away approximately £1000 a year because they don't like doing dtd's and others are willing to do that work in their own time - good luck to them. The guys you saw on sunday are probably keeping some incompetant or lazy person happy and earning a just reward for it.

I hope this deliberately polite notation throws some light on the situation and shows that what you see is not always what you think you see - a bit like looking at the deal we were offered and thinking it looked okay.

yup gotta agree.as i said ive told my DOM i didnt have time last week to make em up.
im not staying indoors past the final missort time to sit and make up D2D's.

we have council newspapers that come out every 3 months so they are not exactly little leaflets you can tuck in.
nobody should be taking them out on a sunday.

davidessex wrote:if i had of been one of them i would quite happily admit it and give my reasons. your just not prepared to consider their position are you. as has been the case too often on here the majority who add comments seem to all be of one opinion, and if anyone dares to take the opposite view they get sarcastic comments thrown at them. i am strong enough to take being opposed but there are many , ( especially those that voted yes) who didn,t air their views leaving us "no,s" to think we were on our way to a resounding victory, who are not. how can we ever come to any conclusion about any topic if we don,t listen to both sides? i see that jonnypick, who started the topic, is based somewhere in the south. it is quite possible the postmen delivering the d2d,s were trying to raise money to pay their oversized council tax bills ,set so that northerners ect can be subsidised
Don't get us all started about how hard it is for those unfortunate enough to live in the south-east. They get extra pay for working in 'outer London', even more for working in 'inner London' and if it really was so bad they would just quietly move out to the sticks the other side of Watford Gap.

dont understand why everyone is getting so upset about two idiots delivering d2ds on a sunday. what will they do when they are not getting paid for them willl they be so willing to help out others when there is no money for them. i very much doubt it it is greed that drives these sort of people, plus the fact their lives are that sad that they have nothing better to do on a sunday explains everything to me!

People don't seem to think about the circumstances for the individuals who were involved, maybe they are just tryin to make more money for themselves. Nothing wrong with that IMO

SAD STATE OFF AFFAIRS...

Working on a sunday when the D2D's supposed to be done in your work time is WRONG....

Lets face it... The majority of people who get D2D's dont really want them for the amount and trouble they cause..

I know people who loved em but they were Either really skint or really sad... OR BOTH..

I dont blame people earning dosh but i cant stand people being ripped off and taken the piss out of when it makes it bad for everyone else..

Lets face it when the work load is like it is now and RM say. "its dropping" We all know the delivery people can vouch for the opposite...

Unless from 7 years ago when i came off deliverys its changed then even then it was much to much to do D2D's every week when doin the job by the book.... 20% a day supposed to be the amount we take out and thats the deal...

People in my old DO done 4 5 6 7 10 lots of other peoples and made a few quid on it... But i hated em and done wot i could when in the time limits... IE came in on time.. and SOmetimes went over the dates...

Why should we carry more n our backs then get less to do it???

Q for the PEC and HQ to answer me thinks??? Or is it for individual office reps to negotiate??? CHEERS BILLY N DAVE... :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

It dont effect me now working in a MC but i do feel for you peeps laiden with shite ready for the bin... Shame the CWU dont back the issues of the people doing the job enmass.... Its RM's stance on D2D's that says how much monies it brings in.,.... SHAME Again The PEC HQ dont ask for more money as its worth so much.....??? Or are they waiting for UNIT REPS AGAIN>>>???

PASS THE BUCK COMES TO MIND!!!
