Forgot to mention page 31 of conduct code states.

The letter must contain details of the conduct notification and in cases which may involve a major penalty that dismissal is a potential outcome

So check your invite letter.

Page 20 also states.

Repeated breaches of the policyWhere an employee has a number of misconduct cases upheld, it may be necessary to take more severe action than a particular breach of conduct calls for by itself. For example, someone who has a number of current serious warnings may face dismissal. In such cases, when the person is invited to the conduct meeting to deal with the latest breach, the invitation letter will make it clear what conduct penalty is being considered and that this is because of the number of previous penalties. However, this is not an automatic reason for more severe action.

I'd also contact ACAS for help. The government doesn't want more people on the dole. I knew a guy with 9 points on his licence, got caught speeding again, still kept his licence after going to court. No licence meant no job.

Hope it works out bud.

I pulled out of a junction and was hit by a speeding car which wrote the van off completely, off work for 3 weeks, technically i was to at fault but all I got was retraining, I would certainly appeal if they decide to dismiss you, forgetting to apply the handbrake is something we've all done, fortunately we mostly get away with it, Honestly I wonder why any of us drive for RM you have all the pressure and for no extra pay for it and crap like this to deal with, best of luck.

Not true, we've had two and neither were dismissed. Suspended dismissal for two years.

Do not hand your notice in.
Make notes of every said in the past and dates etc and make notes from now on.
There are so many things managers are meant to do but fail to do which results in managers not getting their own way when it comes to formal procedures

Bboingg wrote:Another consideration - it's hard to get any government allowances if you resign from a job.

Hope you keep your job. But if you do need to claim benefits claim employment support allowance (ESA) and not universal credit (UC). With UC you can be barred for up to 28 seems from any money. With ESA just get a fit note from the doctor, phone DWP for a form and send it in. No sanctions for losing your job although the adjudication officer would have to be a right B for stopping your UC for having an accident. Good luck. :thumbup

In your initial driver training were you instructed to always leave the van in gear when you parked it? Also have you had to complete the forms relating to leaving the van in gear when parking? If not then you may have a chance because of inadequate training, good luck.
