Are we still collecting money for surcharges?
The surcharge process will temporarily cease with Fee to Pay P4605 cards no longer being issued for surcharge items and they should not be delivered to customers. There may be some surcharge items currently in your CSP, please treat these as you usually would, but from today there are no further surcharge Fee to Pay cards to be issued. Items that would ordinarily be surcharged should now be delivered. This will be reviewed over the coming weeks.
To cheer myself up, I'm going to send myself a letter without a stamp on everyday till they start sending the charge cards out again. I suggest we start a campaign to do this as it's not going to cost anything and can you imagine the mess the offices would be in. Just a thought

CALLERS OFFICE OPEN TIMES
Customer Service Points (CSPs) are classified as shops for the purposes of this guidance and therefore all customers using these facilities in England and Scotland will need to wear a face mask/covering. Posters to display this requirement are available on the SHE Coronavirus Document Library -Posters
It is not mandatory for employees who work in CSPs to wear a face covering, however face masks remain available through line managers for anyone who chooses to wear one. You can ensure you always have good stock of face masks and other protective equipment available by keeping your Additional Supplies Register (ASR) app up to date.
The law provides discretion to people who have a health condition, a disability and other groups. These will not always be visible, so staff should continue to serve all who enter CSPs, including those not wearing face coverings.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Are we changing how long we keep parcels for collection at CSPs?
The previously extended retention period has now returned to 18 days for Domestic/International and 21 days for Custom Charge items before returning to sender.

Yes, we are now collecting surcharges again. CSP staff can order the latest Fee to Pay (P4605) cards from the portal as normal. The card directs customers to stay home, be safe and pay online.
