Surprise High Earnings of each "Pouch"!

Regardless of all the "spin" we hear about postie's being overpaid and underworked, I was surprised at the figures when you work out the HIGH revenue from the quantity of letters taken out for delivery in a typical postman's pouch:-

Eg:- Say on a typical walk you have maybe 2500 letters, and allowing for the lower price of many downstream access items, assume an average price of say 15p per item (not including packages), equals £375 per day, X5 = £1875 per week!!!!!!!

Now obviously RM needs revenue to fund the network, managers, and admin departments. Also costs for heating and overheads of vans and bikes etc.

So, £1875 minus a part-timers wage with a bit of overtime (gross) say £275 if you're lucky
= ........£ 1600........to the rest of the company!
