Just goes to show the differences between offices, and yet they always come out with directives which are nationwide and then wonder why they don't work :arrrghhh

Finding it quite amusing that some people think we will go to a 2 day USO! Yeah maybe in 30 years mate...

5 day is coming but nothing less than that. Small packets are crazy and although in terms of letters don't make up, the bulk of them adds time on

I'm delivering up to 6 items of all sizes a day to the same households without fail. At least 20 houses on duty like that. Then every 5th or 6 house in most streets getting packages. Never seen anything like it. People are literally buying EVERYTHING online.

Could be people reigning in their spending. Once the furlough ends, chances are there's going to be lots of companies laying off staff

I think parcel levels are generally not quite as heavy as they were in my DO section, plus like with exercise, our bodies have generally adapted to the Xmas-like workload since Covid lockdown began. Consequently, generally we are getting our own duties done a bit quicker, generally giving that "spare" 10mins or so to do a bit of lapsing.

However, on top of the workload, some areas experienced very hot conditions to deliver in early in the lockdown period (especially if you were on the late shift introduced to reduce numbers in depot at any one time). Xmas-like workloads in extreme heat is a dangerous combo, especially while comfort break facilities are limited.

Take care tomorrow everyone, it's going to be a very hot one.

Packets seemed to have dropped suddenly beginning the end of last week, although still higher than usual for this time of year. I had become quite used to only taking stuff that goes through the letterbox, so now that many people are back at work and I have to take the medium sized packets it's getting annoying again. :evil/mad
The machine stops.

Our packets dropped off last week but are back through the roof again this week, not sure if Marks and Spencers have a sale on but I've had plenty of their green packets complete with a coat hanger! Mail has also gone up a bit, as well as d2d which are back to 3 or 4 on most duties.
