I’m expecting sickness levels to rise rapidly, everyone is exhausted and now extra lapsing. We really haven’t had a break from it all since November. Christmas followed by the sales and then coronavirus hit.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
Illegitimi non carborundum

Not only sickness (people milking the system now),
Vacancies galore, people leaving the job in numbers, as a lot of the part timers can't cope,
Even full timers are leaving if near to retirement age (even if they can't get vr).
A few in my office have just gone sick and have no intention of returning, banking on RM to pay them off (which seems to be happening)
And of course, RM refusing to make PT into FT, or not even bothering to bring in new staff.

We are down to absolute bare bones staffing now. Everyone taking their days off and holidays, plus high sick levels. Some days not even 1 person per shared van. People covering huge areas. Specials, tracked, collections, parcels, then mail. Some houses getting mail once, maybe twice a week. Management just hide away, not even bothering with any talks, feel totally emotionally exhausted as I care about the job and trying to provide a service. Some staff past the point of caring, others having a great time thinking this is hilarious.

The whole COVID-19 is getting everyone down but work overload is not helping no wonder staff on sick or leaving. But mental health will be a bigger killer than a virus of that I am sure!
