No social distancing, overcrowded office, no one cares - where can I report it?

Post by big_tuna »

I've had it with my office. There is zero social distancing, it's far too small for purpose, the managers and the majority of the staff don't give two sh***s.

Where do I report this? Upper management? Union? HSE? I'm perfectly willing to name and shame on here, but not sure how the mod team would feel about that.

Oh yeah, we had a table set out today full of open finger/buffet food because someone was leaving, I can't think of many things more stupid to do during a pandemic.

Possibly more staff required to do the afternoon shifts?

Mate, all delivery offices are too small for social distancing.
It started off with everyone trying but as time went on, most people thought it was all blown up out of all proportion, unless anyone in your office caught it.
Now as you have pointed out, 98% of people don't give a toss and just want to get out of the door, onto delivery as quick as possible.
We had our area H&S rep visit the office unannounced and when I said to him about the social distanceing, he shrugged his shoulders and said "what more can I do, it's upto everyone to do it"
So basically it's a waste of time complaining

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Are you wearing a mask? That is one way for those who are concerned about a lack of social distancing to do something about it immediately. For some reason in this country a lot of people seem hesitant to wear one - probably something to do with worrying how they look. If you make the first move others will follow.

Wear a mask, but really the whole office should to protect each other from the airborne droplets fired out when coughing, sneezing even talking. The reason people don't (I do) is they are like sheep waiting for some kind of guidance from the leader of the herd who tells lies all the time (Johnson)

Others won't follow.
I've been wearing a mask since the start back in March, as have maybe two or three others out of 70 odd staff.
No one else has started wearing one since.
They clearly either don't know or don't care about their own and other's health.
