No wonder you want to keep using HCT then.glass joe wrote:Well Van Partner driver would still take large parcels on my side of the frame.
Things are going to change and it won't be the way we want to do things, it will be business driven.

Supposing van shares were reintroduced at some point on condition that both driver and passenger wear masks while in the van, how on earth would this be enforced?HA1 wrote:Van shares will come back in with the people wearing masks
Blame would be put on the posties both passenger & driver for not adhering to RM policy of wearing a mask. Even if one wasnt wearing the mask both would be punished for (1) not wearing mask (2) getting into van with person not wearing mask.SierraOscarBravo wrote:

Masks are available now, yet almost nobody avails of them or of the other PPE such as disposable gloves. Token gestures of social distancing are made, yet not enforced.
As ever, people rush around like idiots just to try and finish early yet these same individuals will whinge like spoilt brats if they have to work all of their paid hours on heavier days.
I suspect a lot of these corner cutters would take a mask and loop it under their chin and even cover their nose and mouth until they are out of sight of the DO, then they would be tossed aside for the rest of the delivery only worn briefly as they re-enter the yard at the end of the shift.
So knowing that this would happen with all the risks of van share, it would put the business in a very tricky position legally. People can choose to have a driving lesson and consent to the risks. For an employer to instruct us to van share is a different matter entirely and leaves them potentially exposed to an avalanche of legal challenges in the future.
In the current circumstances, there is no way van shares will be brought back. Indeed, more than likely it is gone forever.
I think what's going on in Barnsley might put an end to any idea that might make it look like RM are not taking the pandemic seriously.Rommagic wrote:On Facebook someone is saying Royal Mail are talking about van share back .

No I'm not a Bournemouth sunbather, funnily enough I've been at work! I'm sure plenty on the beaches are people enjoying their furlough holiday while saying it's too dangerous to go back to work or send their kids to school. Shakes my head at having to reply to idiotic postsChelseablue wrote:Some ppl wont have jobs to go bk to after furlogh . Another immature post , are you a bournemouth sunbather? What made them do it? were they doing so for their own gains?Joe4567 wrote:2 suspended in my office for van sharing today
No doubt there couples who meet up at the start of their delivery, park the car and use the van rest of delivery.... did a member of the public grass them up?Joe4567 wrote:2 suspended in my office for van sharing today
