Yes it's about £12 a week or something. Haven't looked it up for ages. Anytime worked after 20:00hrs brings extra money and starting before 5/5:30am.

MC shift allowances
Allowance times taken from various places in the Way Forward agreement:
Dawn shift (starts between 0201-0400)
Early shift (starts between 0401-0500)
Early shift (starts between 0501-0530)
Evening shift (finishes between 2000-2139)
Late shift (finishes between 2140-0159)
Night shift (three hours worked across 2300-0500)
[Two different flavours of early shift, the latter roughly getting half the allowance of the former. I haven't quoted the actual allowances, since they'll have changed, and depend on grade.]

If you finish your shift after 21:40 you will get the late shift allowance. I'm not 100% sure but I think it is currently about £48 per week which is also fully pensionable.Pancake123 wrote:Hello,

I believe locally all late and evening shift are scheduled to finish just before 21:40Steve_claret wrote:If you finish your shift after 21:40 you will get the late shift allowance. I can see why that would be in some MC's but in reality it all depends when the final despatch is timed at.SpacePhoenix wrote:I believe locally all late and evening shift are scheduled to finish just before 21:40Steve_claret wrote:If you finish your shift after 21:40 you will get the late shift allowance. Some MC's late shifts are still 22:00 finish as that is when the final despatch is.

In smaller MCs it might also depend on when night shifts have to start setting up. Smaller MCs might have to use the same space for inward and outward whereas larger MCs might well have the room for full setups of both inward and outward to be in place all the timeSteve_claret wrote:I can see why that would be in some MC's but in reality it all depends when the final despatch is timed at.SpacePhoenix wrote:I believe locally all late and evening shift are scheduled to finish just before 21:40Steve_claret wrote:If you finish your shift after 21:40 you will get the late shift allowance. 20:00hrs is 8pm not 10pm. And if you read my comment I did say that I hadn't looked up the rates for ages.
