Van sharing is inefficient. Hopefully royal mail realise this and it never comes back.

Bit strange that on the same day that the UK lowers its level from 4 to 3 that the guy in charge of the WHO is saying that the global pandemic is accelerating. If there is a risk of a 2nd wave then surely we should ensure that all the safety measures are in place. We haven't got the tracking app fully up and working yet and dexamethasone only prevents the deaths of the sickest coronavirus patients. Prevention is far better than cure and I think we are starting to see the government caving in to businesses like airlines who desperately want to get rid of the 14 day quarantine rule.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Agree.

There have recently been upticks in infections all around around the world. Even in countries that had all but got rid of the plague.

And the UK is still in the first wave, never mind second, at the very top of the global league for deaths per person.

Way too soon, way too dangerous, another surge seems inevitable. Hope I'm wrong.

You’re right it is inefficient however at the moment we have people having to walk or cycle out to the start of delivery. Some are taking their cars. Then once out you have to basically deadwalk and chase the van around between loops. Once finished you may also face a long haul back to your bike or car and in some cases walk back to the office. I’ve heard some offices use public transport to get out on delivery!!!! How does that add up ........ you can’t van share but you can go on public transport with many others - yet the government tell you only to use public transport as a last resort. So until RM come up with a new way of working then van share is the best of a bad pick at the moment as everything else is even more inefficient or dangerous.

July 4th probably and lapsing starts back on Monday as apparently letters are at a far lower level than we’ve known, according to Dom and parcels are starting to ease off because shops are re opening!!

Parcels still through the roof at our place,Wednesdays & Thursdays still resemble one of the heavier days of Christmas pressure. Add to the mix D2D’s,the high level of absence, annual leave & lack of vans & you can conclude we won’t be returning to normality any time soon
