Logic would say it would always be a Saturday as that is when most people are likely to be home. It will be back again in a different form I’m sure.clashcityrocker wrote:Rather than go back to a 6 day letter delivery I think it would have made more sense to have a second day of the week (Tuesday) allocated to parcels only.

Would it not be possible to go for a 7 day week and have a 4 day on 4 day off working attendance pattern. As Royal mail could then be on par with other courier firms. As no doubt the Wallington week will be going, and at the moment that is the only decent thing about the job. Or is this not feasable. Only I've a horrible feeling we will get a 5 day week with Saturdays and Tuesdays off

What a ridiculous idea! To be in a job where you have at least one set day off is a fortunate position. 4 days on, 4 days off would mean very long days (as if they aren’t long enough due to the physicality of the job) and much harder to make plans for time off etc.DICKIEG wrote:Would it not be possible to go for a 7 day week and have a 4 day on 4 day off working attendance pattern. There isn’t enough work in delivery’s to run a large scale 4 on 4 off. We already know what their plan is with journey 24 or is it 22 I can’t keep up. They won’t have moved too far away from it but hopefully the union have managed to water it down a fair bit.joewyan wrote:What a ridiculous idea! On the 35hr full time week that was 'promised' it's less than 9hr days. I can be 9 hrs on wed and Thurs now. I'd rather have four days in a row off than wait six weeks to get more than one!joewyan wrote:What a ridiculous idea!
