We just get the additional stuff they can't handle dumped on us because apparently we've got loads of spare free time to deliver it.

Been delivering PF for years, whole York full most days on top of everything else we have to do! Many days I have to load PF on the floor of the van because of the size and shape, then chuck RM on top, practically having to empty the van to get a large PF item out! Since CV19 we now have all the things people used to shop for, but now in bulk! Bog rolls, wine cases, packs of Coke, picnic tables, paddling pools, trampolines.....on the days when we physically cannot get the van doors shut we just leave them until we can!!
Such fun!

I wonder if we'll be offered the same incentive for taking excess work off them? :hmmmm
.
Are you saying 60 parcels or 60 drops. 60 parcels you may be able to do, 60 stops you definitely won't. Over 8 hour delivery span/ day you could do 480, I don't think so !!!!!
I said originally you'll almost certainly have multiple parcels for one address in some instances, so reducing the overall call rate.

I also don't know just how this supposed £22 per hour/60 parcels per hour incentive works. Do PF have 8 hour delivery spans?
Parcelforce have many delivery 'spans'. 10 hours 48 minutes is the maximum. Duties can be anything up to the maximum.

Some of the highlights that have turned up for us to delivery so far.... a cement mixer, a roll of lino flooring, a car bumper, a set of patio furniture and a roof box.
We're all here because we're not all there

I had something similar on Monday, maybe 3/4 of a York but this thing was dam heavy and said 2 man lift on it. Tracked label stuck over the Parcelforce one. I’m not joking when I say the back of the van went down when I loaded it.

If it said 2 man lift, why did you lift it yourself.? :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

20 separate drops per hour is not a piss take it's a decent rate.

30 and you've had a lucky hour or two.

40-50 and you can’t count.

Yes mate, ex Glasgow central fleet driver here and agree with you 100%. :thumbup

It's no wonder as a business RM is in so much financial trouble.

Hermes sent a message out telling customers they are no longer delivering small and medium size packets so we will get a lot more work, not sure if its just a London thing.

Park outside your house, get out, open & close the boot, walk to your front door, bend down, get back up, go back to the car & start it. That's easily 60 seconds.

Add on driving, finding a parcel amongst many in the back of the van & waiting for door to answer/writing a docket.

For any new posties reading this thread - 20 is reasonable & 30 is good or just plain lucky!

Shows you how badly they will need to change duties with the huge increase in parcels. You are lucky in our DO to have 10-15 minutes spare to drive round and do large parcels.

At my mail centre, last weekend no packet manager was told or looked at their emails so they were happily adding Addidas stuff to the parcel force area (till I mentioned it)
I only happened to know as I read a thread on here :)

The extra PF parcels haven't been so bad on me this last two weeks. A lot of them are going to the same two or three houses, day after day. And those houses are on a walk with 40+ oversized every day, right at the beginning of the first loop, with probably about 5 parcels each.

Seems to always take a refreshing sting out of a hard day.

60 packets an hour. Piss off. You realise there are literally only 60 minutes in an hour yeah?
