Thanks for that wonderful comment.rambo1 wrote:Part timers start later.JKSmudge wrote:If revisions meant the rounds were evened up AND we clocked in & out so that people actuallyy worked to their hours, then I would be all for it.
Q. Can anyone tell me what the (official) difference is between a full-time round and a part-time round please ?

That was always going to happen.doorstepped wrote:spoke to my DOM about this yesterday apparently Planners are due in in around 4 weeks from now with an eye for a September revision completion date.
everything will be 1 in 6, no nine day fortnight, wallington, 1 in 4 etc will be allowed.
gonna happen in every office and pretty soon, RM will push through with it.
personally I can't wait for it to happen, 9 day FN walks get away with murder in our office, early finishes compared what they are supposed to do, people on normal lwalks finish almost on their time and get sent out again to clear the office, 9DFN come back and every thing is cleared so they get to go home early doors.
Are the duties being revised with single vans in mind?

Depends on what % of duties get changed (think it's about 33% of dtuties changing to trigger a resign). Duties that havn't changed can be taken out the hat but if the extra workload becomes permanent then I can see every duty, everywhere changing to take into account extra packets and Trackedtoonshola wrote:If this happens does that mean there is an office re-pick?

I think if they are changing your attendance pattern (stopping Wallington weeks etc) it triggers an office resign but i might be wrong.SpacePhoenix wrote:Depends on what % of duties get changed (think it's about 33% of dtuties changing to trigger a resign). As has been pointed out already, walks can never be even, because everyone works at different speeds.
We have two people in my office who are over 6 feet 5.
They finish any deliverie easily in the required time, then you have people who choose to drag their heels, hoping that streets will be taken off them.
As for the planners, dream on...
They can only do so much, they can only work with the old Pegasus system.
I was withdrawn for 18 months and measured every block of flats and streets in my area and added extra time onto every deliveriy.
We then let the planner loose on it, he was told not to change a certain drive, he took no notice and we ended up with 4 drivers doing part of the same street.
No only that he managed to loose the first 6 walks in the office and then tried to blame other people.
Hopefully he won't be back in our office.
I'm on the verge of leaving the job and there is no one in the office who has ever done a revision apart from me, so it should be very interesting to see what happens

It's going to go like the docks. You will get a basic guarantee of say 20 hours per week. Yous turn up and depending on that days level of mail/ parcels then you will be told which (flexible) walks each person does. There will be no set walks as such, just a basic walk with extra drops for light days and just get on with it for heavy days. Overtime will become a thing of the past and if you cannot do the job due to being unfit, your out. The disability discrimination act only protects people who can reasonably be found another job in the same company if possible, not an absolute right to employment. The delivery side will become the same as the mail centre's, full of agency staff. The union have done f**k all about that and now their getting ready for the DOs to be deunionised. Yous know which people at the top of the union need to go. Either that or bring the whole f***ing lot down on your terms instead of them making yous into nothing more than glorified paper boys. No other so called mail company can deliver to every home in the UK. It would take billions of pounds just to set a network up that could come close to RM. And that is the magic potion, that hopefully, new strong leaders of the CWU will sort out and stop the rot. The RM management have divided and are on the verge of conquering a great service and union.PLEASE DO NOT LET THEM WIN. YOUS ALL KNOW WHAT NEEDS DONE.
