I’ve been on unpaid leave from 22/03/20 shielding someone had to take previous years leave plus brought 2 week forward of this years. Other than making contact with Dom about going off on unpaid leave and moving leave forward had no contact with office.Just done it all online it’s straight forward really.

No You get basic pay plus regional payments and supplements to basic pay. If you hold a properly contracted scheduled attendance agreement you’ll also get that payment but if the furlough period remain in place more than One month after the date of this letter. ( part of terms & conditions )You agree the payment will cease.

I am currently off work as I am classed as extremely vulnerable and have received the nhs letter, I am approaching a reduction in wages to half rate in approximately 2-3 weeks. At this point I would be eligible to apply, although I found out yesterday that Royal Mail have now closed the furlough scheme.
Although the government have said the scheme has been extended until the end of October.

That's terrible. It's almost like the company doesn't want to help the vulnerable and at risk members. I knew our entry into the scheme was coming to an end last week as the Union Rep rang me to let me know. Pointless really as my Furlough Application was turned down in a matter of minutes. The Furlough scheme would of actually been of benefit to Royal Mail as the government would of been paying the bulk of the wages and not them!

I think the Union is fighting to guarantee wages for those that are Isolating/Shielding but I'm not sure at what stage they're currently at?

Thats good to hear.
Hopefully common sense will prevail.
And the union can secure an agreement for our vulnerable members.
