good people watching skills ! you watch and they just do the bare minimum after why rush same you get paid until r.m takes on board you get nothing for nothing. then when they turn on the bully boy attitude then rensentment kicks in then you have anarchy setting in .Very hard to get rid of once the rot sets in just wait and see. Yes you have posties with no brains running around but wait untl they a 'forced to take on extra work' then no doubt the penny will drop .. cant wait to see it happening then you and your goody two shoes buddys will have more scorn to pour on decent hard working posties.

Again this thread begins to slip off into childish name calling and frankly spiteful accusatory comments. Again, I am getting a public stoning for expressing my own opinion. There is no contrary argument, just abuse. I guess I put the pin a little too close to the RMchat safety bubble, again. I have an idea! Why don’t we all just agree with each other, all the time? Then we could all stand in a big circle and pat each other on the backs too. Well done lads, as long as we keep sticking these little avatars on our posts everything will be ok. :lfo :cfo
This site is dominated by a handful of prolific posters with extreme militant views. They are nothing more than self opinionated people who have something to say about every thread, which usually goes along the lines of 'who the f**k cares'. :cfo :lfo
What you need to realise that this is now the voice of the minority, the acceptance for the pay deal has proven that.
L Tommo, why do we have to prove our worth and validate our jobs? Well the answer is simple. RM is a business, not a charity and doesn’t owe you or me a living. It has to make profit, forever.
I don’t speak as a manager, I speak as someone living in the real world. To refer to a previous post from, 'Flashman':
I certainly do not think I am a cut above anyone on this site or in RM for that matter. I am just the same. I would say though that I do feel as though I am considered below certain posters, simply for expressing an opinion. Axeman, I haven’t told anyone they aren’t pulling there weight. Besides that though, what we all do when we are at work has everything to do with all of us. I’m sick of hearing this pathetic argument of ‘you do your job, I do mine!’ Plus I do my job to the best of my abilities and safely. I work while I am being paid to.
Machman, I just say no thanks!
With regards to ‘Job in Knock’, it doesn’t work. Staff begin to cut corners and disregard H&S. This all becomes a president that is expected and until one side decides it no longer suits them for whatever reason. This is what has shafted DO men, I can’t believe you are all still arguing for it. ‘Give and Take’ doesn’t work either. Both parties always believe they are just giving, next thing you know, and dummies are spat out. Besides a manager tried this on my section and no one stayed back, after several nights of letting us go early.
Everyone is far better off just – starting when they are due to, working whilst they are getting paid to and finishing when they are due to. This is one of the reasons I have rejected the pay offer and voted for strike action. The other reason is that I want an above inflation pay rise, that the union promised and was the initial reason for rejection.

p.j.... h&s is and always will be ignored by R.M come on it's flouted at every d.o, mail centre in the country in the name of 'clearence' you have at least in ours blocked up fire escape doors (with yorks full & empty) The office space has been calculated but the floor space is usualy inadequate so we are tripping over boxes of mail put out for sorting! not one of the jobs in my office has been risk assesed , the list is endless and as for cutting corners r.m are the most efficent at this until something goes wrong as we have seen over the years with the use of private vehicles on deliverys etc..
was that mmanager you by any chance you certainly seem more pro r.m than postie...

For crying out loud, NO. I am not, never have, nor ever will I ever been a manager, or a bloody scab. Honestly, you really have no idea do you? H&S is as mucy YOUR responsibilty as RMs. Do something about it. Just because you claim it is flouted is no excuse! Do you honestly believe that I am pro RM? I am pro to the point they provide me with employment. What seems so hard to realise on this thread is that you all believe you can stand around doing nothing and keep jobs! How? Do you really think RM don't realise you are doing that?axeman wrote:p.j.... h&s is and always will be ignored by R.M come on it's flouted at every d.o, mail centre in the country in the name of 'clearence' you have at least in ours blocked up fire escape doors (with yorks full & empty) The office space has been calculated but the floor space is usualy inadequate so we are tripping over boxes of mail put out for sorting! not one of the jobs in my office has been risk assesed , the list is endless and as for cutting corners r.m are the most efficent at this until something goes wrong as we have seen over the years with the use of private vehicles on deliverys etc..

This just keeps getting more and more pathetic. Even if I was a manager, WHICH I AM NOT, what difference does that make to the issue. The facts still remain the same. It just seems to me that you are all to busy getting offended to even listen to anything anyone has to say.BELIAL wrote:Can,t blame peeps really ,you do sound like a manager, a lot, all the time, everytime. Easy mistake to make
PS Thanks for the apprieciation, Flashman, I'm glad someone is taking the time and effort to read things. Or is it all just a guise to get that apology back. Lol!

As postal jedi has said HS in your DO or MC is as much your responsibility as it is RM. Why don't you clear the fire escape doors, I'm sure it wouldn't take long. Why don't you start moving the boxes you are likely to trip over.axeman wrote:p.j.... h&s is and always will be ignored by R.M come on it's flouted at every d.o, mail centre in the country in the name of 'clearence' you have at least in ours blocked up fire escape doors (with yorks full & empty) The office space has been calculated but the floor space is usualy inadequate so we are tripping over boxes of mail put out for sorting! not one of the jobs in my office has been risk assesed , the list is endless and as for cutting corners r.m are the most efficent at this until something goes wrong as we have seen over the years with the use of private vehicles on deliverys etc..

If you don't stand up and point out and remove these blatant HS risks how do expect things to change.
It isn't just RM who cut corners the staff do also and this is what jedi is trying to point out, you can whine about HS until you are blue in the face but if you are not prepared to make a stand and correct the hazards that are in your office then you and everyone else who ignores them are to blame.
And always press the blue stop button when working on an IMP.

H&S
Flashman... I agree that EVERYBODY has a responcebility for H&S in the work place...
But ive found When ive either asked a SCREW to move a peice of Machinary safely away.. I saw them move it to the side... No note or warning that the camban was not safe.. When i flagged this up. (AS Rm like to call it) I then moved it outside like we have been told... On return.. I was grilled over where i had been.. It was put in a FACT FINDING MEET to find out why i was Not at point of duty...
Then blamed me for "DELIBERATELY NOT WORKING FOR A REASON... And not being on point of duty... When i told the prick Screw why i was outside and if h wanted to find out from the security cameras then he would see what and where i was... They STILL wanted to do me for point of duty... I told em to do one.... But THIS.... is the reason there is bad feeling in my office and many others... DICK HEAD SCREWS WITH NO BRAINS AND NASTY WITH IT... So i cant take any comments on H&S seriously with RM involved....

What is the point!
This is getting more pathetic with each post. L Tommo your just for your speach and when you have to let someone else speak you shout. I haven't given up or rolled over, I'm just being realistic. I think standing doing nothing when you could be doing something else will ultimately cost us jobs. You can infer what you like about me, is that what you have to do to win an arguement? I don't really care what any little man with a big mouth has to say, it's usually the same thing anyway.L Tommo wrote:PJ..... I Think you just aint got any backbone... Given up.. I never said you should be thanking RM for the right to earn a living, what I said was they don't owe you it.
How do you want better for your workmates? You are just shouting things at any poster who you don't agree with.
Yes, it is a business, a one that provides a service. whether you want to get to the actual technicalities of what a business is, is up to you. RM want to make money and they will never make enough.

It's a shame no one knows a fireman who could verify who's resposibility it is! Is it anyone who spots the hazard, is it the person who has blocked the fire escape, is it the person who owns the fire escape?
