Will they allow you to take either extra holiday or unpaid is another question to add? Who knows how this is going to develop in regards to foreign travel but if there is a quarantine period it will be interesting to see how companies deal with people making themselves unavailable for work

There's as much chance you'll need to quarantine for 2 weeks wherever you goto. A weeks holiday will cost you 5 weeks.

Until the foreign office change their advice on advising against non essential travel abroad, you'd be pretty foolish to try and go. Your travel insurance would not cover you for anything and no insurance companies are insuring for any covid related claim anyway.

Really stupid move by the government anyway. Think about it. So you get off a plane or boat, on which you've come into pretty close contact with others, then you have to isolate for two weeks....after driving or going home on the train, thus meeting even more people. Wlhile the cabin crew, or lorry drivers can come and go still meeting lots of people and it's ok? Double standards and a rule that is going to cripple the UK economy and lose 100's of thousands of jobs. Nice one Boris, or should I say Dominic who we now know for certain is most definitely in charge.

As above...the government advice is for "essential travel only" ...if you get ill or into any sort of bother whilst abroad it could turn into a massive financial and personal nightmare as your travel insurer will argue you've travelled against official advice ?

That's tha advise at the moment but the government want the airlines operating so it will change. Travel insurance is going to cause some headaches :cuppa
