Regardless of what decisions managers make in each office there will always be so called colleagues that will stitch up other colleagues to get their own way. Each office has these unscrupulous people who tattle tale or pull moves to get it handy with others get hammered. While all this mayhem is going on at the minute, having to work with people who are just so untrustworthy is soul destroying and really doesn't do much for the already uneasy workplace morale.

Don't think that will happen as years ago we had people doing own prep and delivery could see it being split and people prep walks and others take rows or loops of walks in city's rural will stay the same.

how can it help when we're having less staff in on Saturdays now?
In offices where it's been implemented properly and staffing is reduced in theory it gives you more staff Monday to Friday meaning there isn't a mess to clear up on Saturday.

In offices where it hasn't and have normal staffing levels not having letters on Saturday means you can clear up the mess from mon-fri.
This communication is so funny.

Only 20 our DOM says he’s been out on delivery & 35 parcels per hour is easily achievable?

Yesterday some got back @ half ten & some half three

Tell your DOM that if they can do 35 an hour then surely they must be the most efficient person in the building to do them so dont sit in the office, get out on delivery and save the company some money.

It's the none drivers in our office who are being given Saturday's off, they aren't much use Mon-Fri if they can't drive.

I reckon PT staff will mostly be given Saturdays off. RM really won’t get much work out of someone on a 5 hour day...even if the van is loaded by someone else, he/she has to look at where the parcels are for, do a van check, 20 minute break, sign the van out, get to the area, get back, unload, sort the P739 parcels out. Plus very few PT workers have their own round so will naturally be slower. At best RM are getting 3 and a half hours work. Whereas a FT on an 8 hour day is going to get a lot more done.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Other way round in our office, FT'ers - Saturday off (as not enough work even though there are lapsed rounds) so they cover the heavier workload during the week.
PT'ers cover Saturday - but 'There won't be any OT paid, so get your skates on!!' and everyone has just accepted it.

Even that’s gone out the window up here, early and extended OT paid not that it matters to me as I don’t do any. Newbies sent out delivering parcels on walks they don’t know and that are not easy. I believe we had one who didn’t get back until 7:30pm last week. God knows what they were doing.
