Some will lose some of it for having time off no work will mean nothing i would think thats fair enough imo. P/T should get the full amount most of them work as many hours and all of them just as hard.daveyeff wrote:does this apply to people who were advised to self isolate and therefore not allowed to attend work?vila465 wrote:The staff who have not taken sick leave between march 16th and may 10th will receive the full £200 lump sum.The payments will be private for part time staff, people who have gone sick and unpaid leave.

He's still gonna be on the payroll till august too, then he's getting a £450,000 pay off.
Lets load him up with a high capacity trolley, he can clear some packets.

The timing is too much of a coincidence for it not to be a reaction to the announcement recently made without consultation on Saturday working .. I could well believe he had his arse kicked by both the government and the top civil servants who probably pointed out a few facts of life .. it was all too obvious that he was taking advantage of the current chaos to push through his own agenda .. it also suggests that the other board members were maybe not impressed by how it was done .. either way, no sympathy from this quarter .. I doubt he'll be having to sign on.

It's likely RM gave Rico Back a gentle shove to leave otherwise come the next AGM the major shareholders would have been calling for his head. RM have already had one major shareholder revolt which they largely ignored much to the surprise of the press. RM would not be able to ignore major shareholders demands twice in a row.
The views I express here are mine alone and do not represent the views of Royal Mail Group.

Over £5 million to start, over £2 million a year, hundreds of thousands in shares. He just used RM to build up his bank balance, he couldn't care less about the company.
Oh nearly forgot £450,000 pay off, unbelievable, who sanctioned this, shareholders ????

The £200 is reduced if you have been off sick during the pandemic?
If so, that is outrageous.
I was off for a week with very mild symptoms of something, first week in april.
In normal times I would not have been off with such mild symptoms, but due to the risks, and the fact that it was government advice, I self-isolated.
And now I get a lower bonus because of it?

Would you buy a unionised company?wacko74 wrote:It seems rather odd that he's gone with immediate effect... possible takeover in the offing and they've stipulated they want him off the scene before proceeding with a formal bid?

Not surprised he's gone. Royal Mail shares plummeted, he fell out with the CWU and a second vote of strike action was only really averted due to this pandemic. In Terry's words he 'lost the dressing room'.
It's hard to dislike a person that you have never met but I don't think he will suffer much financial hardship as he takes "gardening leave"
with another half a million quid in instalments coming his way.
On a positive note, the £200 is a welcome bonus given that it's been like Xmas. Just hope the new chief will have a better strategy for the company going forward.

On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

Worst thing about this company by a country mile is all levels of management. Most posties are trying to make a decent job of it.2yearpostie wrote:Would you buy a unionised company?wacko74 wrote:It seems rather odd that he's gone with immediate effect... possible takeover in the offing and they've stipulated they want him off the scene before proceeding with a formal bid?
It was management that thought it was a good idea to void the USO.
