Only if the driver and passenger are separated by some form of screening, so until that happens no van sharing won't happen.
It says use screens or barriers if you can, can't see RM paying out for that.
Nah there's no way, I doubt you could just fit a makeshift screen like you can in a shop, Managers will just insist you hold your breath when in the van, shame is some would try if it meant getting done half an hour early.

van sharing blocks probably came in by RM as they would be seen in the public eye where photos would probably appear on social media and put them in a dark light
seeing that social media photos are banned inside buildings they're probably safe unless someone wants to risk getting dismissed
i bet you could ask 50 driving posties if they feel more at risk going out with 1 person they probably know very well as oppose to working indoors 2 or 3 hours brushing shoulders with the other 50 posties and they would chose the latter more dangerous but that's allowed because nobody is allowed to see it
i asked about starting work from home, and flatly refused as i don't live in the office delivery area :arrrghhh

It says it applies only if not possible

Its possible - weve been doing alternative methods for weeks

I know buses have a perspex covering but could it realistically work in a smaller vehicle so you can still see the nearside mirror given that road safety is just as important as people's health??

We would probably get a vaccine for this disease before a car manufacturer actually designs a car screen/barrier
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

You've also got to factor in the locations of any air bags

screens between partners wont happen
days off covered by others more chance of infection spread
The toilets in your DO do not have sinks with hot water taps and liquid soap dispensers?

Until this guidance from the government appeared RM vehicles were the only ones being restricted to one occupant. No one else has been doing it.

There are also a lot of police cars, fire engines, ambulances, dustcarts, paramedic vehicles, and other vehicles still with multiple occupants in them with largely no ill effects.

Can you see what links all of these together?

What do you mean "largely no ill effects"?

Are you saying these people haven't died from the virus? (They have)

All jobs that involve driving, especially with multiple occupants, have had some of the worst death rates from covid versus other occupations according to the latest Office for National Statistics bulletin.

Processing/sorting/factory type work also fared badly with covid deaths relative to other occupations.

Jobs that can be done individually outdoors such as in agriculture, window cleaning etc have fared relatively well.

Pretty easy to see where the dangers lie in our job from the above, and luckily for us can be avoided in a way that those industries cannot....no van sharing and varied shift patterns to de-populate offices.

On a slightly separate note, shouldn't the advice to avoid "hot-desking" also mean an end to double prep?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Wouldn't axing double prepping actually mean having more staff in the DO?
