Post by world class male »

felt deflated after a very tiring 4 days, the wife says it's time to applaud, i really didn't have the energy to but she says i must because they are all applauding the likes of us too
honestly hand on heart we are being treat likes lumps of meat, i think under no circumstances can we be included in this public appreciation of the nations helpers,
i may have delivered the odd hospital appointment but pretty fed up of the "toys" people are ordering and sat sunbathing in their back gardens whilst trying to deliver them, i counted 8 p739s wrote out today then they come and collect once they hear the text/email ping, i may start pinging them once i'm leaving the street

We might be the 2nd worst country in the world in terms of Covid-19 deaths.

But god damn, we can clap.

Clap for Boris.

I don’t get the whole clapping thing. And before I begin none of this is a criticism of NHS workers who are doing an incredible job, I’ve had nothing but good experiences whenever me or a family member have used them.

Clapping an underfunded NHS? Will there be the same show of support when all this is over and junior doctors are striking again? Like a few NHS workers have told me (including my wife’s mum who works on ICU and now has CV19)...we don’t want claps we want PPE. Same with Captain Tom, it’s great what he’s done and he’s achieved more than I ever will but NHS is not a charity. It’s been underfunded by various governments.

Why do we just accept it? If the government said they will never ever collect your bins again would we be out in the street clapping and would we be supporting Uncle Arthur who’s walking up every drive to your bin to raise money? Would we hell we’d demand bin collections are reinstated!

It’s similar to the houses where mum Becky has put up pictures of her kids rainbow drawings in the window and they’ve written sweet messages on the pavement, it doesn’t mean a thing when you’re having to P739 Becky’s hair straighteners/paddling pool/handbag because she’s gone out or is in bed or sat round the back and can’t hear you.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

I haven't bothered clapping because politicians seem to be hiding behind an underfunded and/or an unwieldy NHS and bowing to public hysteria. I believe in the concept that education and healthcare should be available to all.

But look see, what's happened to the new Nightingale hospitals?? They have closed some already because they are saying they are empty because the number of infected patients are down. Does that mean that these hospitals will be scrapped or left dormant in the future after the predicted 2nd wave or will there be a massive recruitment drive to employ more doctors and nurses in this country to fill these hospitals with??
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

I wouldn't get stressed over not clapping people...... it's all "Bread & Circuses", just designed to distract all the masses who are in Lock Down. As many of you are posting IF the public really gave a shite about their Posties they'd stop ordering unecessary items and try and help us out a bit. :hmmmm

When the Government said "Save the NHS" everyone didn't start insisting that they get their Ingrowing Toenails operated on, or their Breasts Enlarged did they? No because they realised the NHS was dealing with a serious situation ..... we're just here to make their Paid Holidays a Bit More Enjoyable .... because it's so boring having to stay ay home! FFS! :mad Im really having to bite my tongue nowadays when these idiots OPEN THE DOOR :arrrghhh and spout some crap about, "Thank you so much for delivering all our parcels we think you're all doing such a wonderful job".

I've got to the stage were I just put the Parcels on the Doorstep... Ring the Bell give the door a few whacks with the PDA .... step well back.... and when I hear the Keys... Bolts ... Chains ... start rattling I just and turn and walk away. If anyone says anything I just say, "Whatever". It's better than getting suspended for swearing at the Public. :cuppa

Boris is just going to use covid as an excuse why they didn't get a trade deal when we crash out the EU proper next year. They think we're idiots.

Spot on, Key workers are doing a remarkable job and deserve much more than just a clap.

Job security, fair pay, no more attacks on their terms and conditions, public support at all times not just now.

All much more worthwhile things to have than claps.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.
