Successfully applied for furlough anyone?

If members have taken 2 weeks annual leave or unpaid leave between 30th March and 20th April 2020, this period will ‘qualify’ as the period of annual leave you are expected to take. If members have taken unpaid leave instead of annual leave during this, they will have the option of converting 2 weeks of the unpaid leave to annual leave.

I asked my manager to do it and she agreed, so they can do it haha

Mister T wrote:Mister T can you clarify the "leave issue" . I have a colleague in a similar situation who has now applied for furlough who originally took paid leave. I know TWO weeks leave is a requirement.

Do you mean because you have only taken ONE week paid leave (so far) you will not qualify?
Hi, I was told by my manager to apply even though I knew it would fail because yes I have only taken the one week off on leave. The e mail I had sent back from the department dealing with this said it was I had only had taken one weeks leave instead of two, which I knew was going to happen. Forwarded the e mail to my manager to see if I could take another week off, I am still awaiting a decision.[/quote]

Ok, thought that was the reason but as bergos stated there is an option to convert unpaid leave to paid leave.

Royal Mail Sick Pay Policy – Furlough;
"If members have taken 2 weeks annual leave or unpaid leave between 30th March and 20th April 2020, this period will ‘qualify’ as the period of annual leave you are expected to take. I applied three weeks ago and they’re still processing it. I bet they’ve been counting on government to wind down the scheme so they wouldn’t have to pay up (now we know scheme is extended till October).This is disgusting. Will update this thread if something changes.

I applied straight away and within 2 days was accepted. I have now been on furlough since 6th May. This is because my son is shielding.

I think they are topping up the 20% but I won't know until this payday because last Friday was half furlough, half normal work pay. I had already taken a week's annual leave and some unpaid leave, so they converted the unpaid leave to annual leave, so it ended up that I had effectively had 2 weeks of my leave for this year.

There are definitely 100% people that have been furloghed, as far as I'm aware they're "shielding" a partner that's in the "high risk" category.
Dont know about online stuff but the people im aware of have gone above line or shift managers to head of ops to help them with the applications.
