Will angard be using this system to post available shifts at all their mail centres?

A guy started a thread on this a while back but not sure we’ll get any updates as it looks like he’s been banned or deactivated?
Haven’t heard anything about it at my MC.

It’s going to be trialled at Leeds MC.
Whether it’s a coincidence, or not, but that the same MC where more than 50 staff are undertaking axClascActuon at an Employment Agency Tribunal.

I’ve just had an email to advise that all shifts at our mail centre are going to be made available via JoinedUp in future and we have to book in online rather than by telephone. Awaiting further information. I know that some staff don’t have access to the internet so it’s going to be problematic for them.

I would prefer not to say publicly - it’s one of the smaller MCs. Does anyone have any experience of using this system?

I’ve registered and used it for van driving.
It’s quite good.
I think it coukd easily be used for Angard/RM purposes.
The idea is that you pre-advise the system of your availability/days etc and they only offer each shift to those who have indicated that they will be available.
Whilst Angard can still text all the others on their books if they have a shortfall of offers to work and the numbers required I can see that if, say, all 500 in the pool for a Late shift offer their services, how will they decided whom to accept/decline?
Will it be ‘first come first served’’, Managers’ Mates, or a fair and balanced alllocation of shift across the pool of staff?

Just been advised by my CWU union rep that changes are afoot at my MC with effect from next Monday, 02-Mar that will affect the Late Shift.
Hopefully it will lead to fairer allocations of shifts.
I am advised that, in the medium term, the aim is to introduce JoinedUp to my MC.
Wonder when that will be?

Been told by my Angard consultant during a telephone conversation that she expects JoinedUp to be implemented at my MC at the end of this month.
We shall see.......

How have people found this system? Anybody still get called in direct by RM managers or just last minute text/calls from Angard?

I’ve found that they often disregard your availability and book you into shifts you’ve stated you’re not available for. I was absent from work for a week recently self-isolating and I had marked myself “Unavailable - Sick” yet was still being booked into shifts I had to reject.
They also on occasions appear to be still sending block text messages about shifts and asking you to reply (via the Joined Up messaging system) to book in. I’ve had these texts when when already booked in for the shift in question. However, this option is handy when there is a choice of possible shifts, such as at weekends.
All in all, it’s working OK.

Another couple of questions.
Anybody know a way of block setting availability instead of having to enter each day individually?
I'm booked tomorrow for 6-10 but have been asked by an RM manager if I can start at 2. Any issues with getting paid for the extra hours with JoinedUp if called in direct by the MC?

In answer to your second question, our shifts are rarely the length they are originally booked for. Until the book room enters the hours (stopping and starting the clock) only the start time shows on the “timesheet” page of JoinedUp on the “planned” line. The actual hours appear on the “actual” line underneath once they have been entered. So I shouldn’t imagine any problem there - just check that shift on your timesheet or shift view page the following day to ensure the correct times have been entered - and if not speak to the book room directly.tabact wrote:Another couple of questions.

As for updating availability, it seems we can only do it a day at a time.

recently at our mc we were told all angaard had to finish at a leter time than timesheet said , but angaard only paid us to the time stated on timesheet and what was posted on joined up so beware you might have a struggle to get paid for doing the extra hours that angaard didnt book u in for
as for joined up just change to available all day two weeks ahead n just do the shifts u want to do ignore those you dont want its annoying having ya phone bleep alot esp when your booked in for a shift yet you still get a email/text asking for ppl to do same shift

I was told today by my CWU Representative that the new implementation date for JoinedUp at 'my' MC is 11 June.
We shall see if they manage to make it this time 'third time lucky'.
