Successfully applied for furlough anyone?

On furlough application RM says "you have to sign the statement". I don't really know what they refer to, sounds like there's a catch to the whole idea, anyone been placed on furlough recently and for how long?

Not applied but i expect you need to sign to confirm the information you have given is correct

Find it stupid that you have to have taken two weeks of this years leave to be eligible.
It’s only 4th May!
I’ve taken one and I am asking my DOM to move another to this week
I am shielding my Mrs under doctor’s orders.

I have applied but so far no word, not that I expected them to do anything over the weekend, have had to have 2 weeks holiday back dated in order to apply, which seems stupid but anything right now is better than no pay.

Will update once Ive had a response

From what I can gather, they've made it near impossible to gain this Furlough status.....Unless you have the 12 Week Letter!

And if you did have the 12 Week Government Letter, why worry?

You'd be a fool to opt for Furlough when you can potentially just sit at home and not have to sacrifice two weeks annual leave.

Or am I missing something?

I’m ok but I’m shielding my wife so it’s no pay or furlough.
Almost impossible because of the two week annual leave rule, we’re only 5 weeks into this year’s leave.

If you had no sick pay coming in then it would be suitable for someone who is self shielding.

12 weeks letter is mandatory. There is no way to get furlough without it. Even people in “less vulnerable” groups cannot apply unless NHS letter says specifically “stay home for 12 weeks”.

You'd be better off getting signed off by your doctor on stress or anxiety and guaranteeing you get paid.

I have. Had to get the area rep in the case after a bit too get some peace. Was getting phone calls at least once a week and getting a letter every friday to come in on Saturday for a chat

I have been off since end of March shielding my wife. Was contacted by my manager to apply with full knowledge that I had taken a weeks leave and been off on unpaid after that so I knew it would fail, was told to try anyway had to send shielding letter plus proof we were living together i.e. Council Tax bill. Had a email over the weekend saying I had been refused because of the leave issue which in turn sent it to my manager and rep. No reply yet.

Mister T can you clarify the "leave issue" . I have a colleague in a similar situation who has now applied for furlough who originally took paid leave. I know TWO weeks leave is a requirement.

Do you mean because you have only taken ONE week paid leave (so far) you will not qualify?

Hi, I was told by my manager to apply even though I knew it would fail because yes I have only taken the one week off on leave. The e mail I had sent back from the department dealing with this said it was I had only had taken one weeks leave instead of two, which I knew was going to happen. Forwarded the e mail to my manager to see if I could take another week off, I am still awaiting a decision.

As I've said another thread I don't know why RM couldn't convert any unpaid leave taken into annual leave. It's only a case of getting the okay from you and pressing a couple of buttons on PSP.
