who says they'll stop after winning the uso?
paid breaks and full sick pay will follow, then probably a reduction in our pensions
these guys have tacticians of war standards ours are like the keystone cops
we still shouldn't strike whilst in this situation, but we need something set asap to upset the apple cart,
not sure of the ramifications on a work to rule as there's too many pt staff reliant on overtime

In defiance of the company’s unilateral action, all members should continue to adhere to their currently agreed duty/attendance arrangements.

So when the manager tells us to start the new duties, we have to continue to turn up for work on the days and times we're doing at the moment. Will the CWU back us when the s**t hits the fan??

I highly doubt the veracity of that, but if true, good luck getting an efficient five day week out of 20 hour 3 or 4 day contracts. By the time everything is bagged and ready to go, there’ll be max three hours left for delivery and getting back to the office & unloading at the end of shift, which means cut-offs galore, Tracked and Specials included.

Shifts/people/duties are already being aligned and moved for this Saturday in our office.

People are co-operating with management despite being told not to.

Those are the guys they'll shunt about, the reserves and part-timer and how can we tell them to say no to a Saturday off when they've had bugger all support from the union for years.

Exactly. PT reserve here, I usually find out on the Friday or Saturday what my day off is and what rounds I’m on the next week. Although the rounds can and usually do change as soon as I walk in the door.

1 in 6 Saturdays off? No chance, more like 1 in 56. I’ve done nearly 5 years for the business and think I’ve had 1 long weekend. Bank holiday Friday next week, guess what my day off is? Friday! I’ve had FT cover duty guys use seniority to move me off a round I’m covering because it’s easier than the one they were meant to be doing.

The only thing that surprises me is Rico and management don’t target the PTers with a bit of propoganda because a lot of us are peed off - Not just at being messed about by managers but having experienced colleagues using seniority on us.

Anyway I’ll repeat what I keep saying: I can cope with having to work afternoon into early evening, I’ll cope with having all my OT cut, I’ll accept never having my own round, I’ll tolerate colleagues doing what they can to make it an easier day for themselves (eg dumping and sneaking their tracked parcels on our yorks when we are doing the afternoon shift....then we have no choice but to take them). All I want is to keep my job.

The changes they advocate go to the very heart of our dispute and our ability to protect the 6 day USO, our members’ jobs and this great public service. We stepped back from our dispute to do the right thing for our nation during this pandemic and Royal Mail Group agreed to do the same but they are now breaking that agreement.

Rico and his gang are exploring the current crisis to the max to get away with changes that they never would be able to implement under ordinary circumstances - like permanently canceling Saturday deliveries. Six-day delivery will never come back once the COVID 19 pandemic is over.
