Then I expect to arrive at the depot, park up and have the van keys/log book in the van waiting for me, including all the parcels to be delivered in some kind of geographical order fully loaded in the van, and nicely written list of all the addressed I have to deliver the parcels too. The clock starts then. If not in reality and I have to do all of above, it will be 4 hrs delivery time.
No, the delivery span would be five hours, not the duty time. Your duty could be around 7:30hrs. So expect to do all that other fun stuff yourself.

Don't forget the LAT strategy that they want to implement also. People might be happy with a Mon-Fri as a duty holder but the next step will surely be the removal of 'big' parcels from duties and then the collapsing of walks, and who's to say your walk isn't the '1 in 6' that goes.

Sorry, meant to mention I am PT - so it states a duty time of 5 straight hours on Saturday with no break. I wouldn't want anyone to sort out the parcels and load the van ready for me anyway, because I know it will be done better if you do it yourself. So the prep time up until driving the van out of the yard on delivery will be deducted from the start of the shift.

What kind of person gets told your job is changing, don't argue and by the way we need you to use your car and then goes and uses their car to deliver ? How can the union ever defeat Rico when you have people like this undermining everything.

People who are happy to see 1/6th of the workforce disappear, as long as they get every Saturday off, are the reason we are in this position right now. Selfish c***s.

What, like one shared van worth of parcels, plus another? Why then have 50% of staff in if it isn't just to cover a shared van worth of parcels? Or is it out of that 50% of staff that come in, 50% are indoor (prepping for Monday) and 50% are out delivering, so effectively only 25% of total staff will be out driving doing parcels.
We were discussing mainly Rural Duties, so it'd ONLY be two duties worth of Packets& Parcels mailman. I have no idea what they think they're going to do with the extra staff during the week. The DOM said the idea is they are there to help clear the backlog of Mail from the weekend, but I really don't believe they've got any idea how to make it work, they've just been told to DO IT! :cuppa
