So can anyone confirm if Wallington/rest weeks are going or gone during this temporary arrangement. As a lot of people have a/l attached to them or breaks booked (later in the year) . If you booked a break should a manager honour this?

I think I know remedy for all our worries and concerns. All it takes is to work to your time following the usual delivery procedures. Ensuring we take our breaks and if we can not complete ringing DOM to let him know. That's it. They don't want to pay SA , pressure overtime and want ultimately shrink the workforce. First thing we should do is to stop our good will and play by the book. Slow down and do things properly.

Statutory Allowance. I think. Parcelforce get it. Say their contracted hours are 8-4 they will also get 2 hours SA which means that they get paid an enhanced rate for 2 extra hours work effectively meaning you could be working anything up to 6pm or you could work until 4:15 say and still get the 2 hours extra pay. That's how it worked when I was there.Jahpostie wrote:SA gets mentioned a lot. What does this abbreviation stand for?

And a load off bollocks, nothing will be saved, we still have to deliver the shitty Chinese bangle type packets but instead of on one walk you have to do it on two within five hrs! Most will still be going to 90% of the calls they were anyway so we might as well take the letters with us.
There wont be any extra resource in the week either i have no idea where that idea has come from as we will be working the same hours with no ot allowed on a sat/mon.
Half the staff in but out of them a quarter( depending on office size) will be needed to prep in D2DS?
This is going to be a massive fail.

SA is guaranteed overtime.
As the 4 Pillows agreement talks about "focusing" on improving part time contracts, a lot of SA should have been done away with.
But it wasn't.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

and on Mondays when the mech mail that would have been sequenced on a Friday comes through to DOs as walk sort where the MC or MPU hasn't got the capacity to sequence what they'd normally do on a Sunday + what they'd normally do on a Friday. I don't know how much time they have available on a Sunday but it could result in a fair bit going manual2yearpostie wrote:And a load off bollocks, nothing will be saved, we still have to deliver the shitty Chinese bangle type packets but instead of on one walk you have to do it on two within five hrs!
