Does anyone now for sure does the non letter delivery on saturdays start on and include 2nd May? or from 2nd May mean starts the next saturday?

Im a non driving passenger cover and work 3 out of 4 saturdays

do i have to be given notice that i may not be needed saturday 2 may or is it too late - if im asked to work thurs 30 apr instead can i refuse as not enough notice and if so can i be docked pay?

as for the other questons - who knows? depends if your local rep is any good - I would say it's too short notice really.

How can they implement something this week when the rota is already up, some people have had their day off etc ? It seems mad to introduce it so quickly

Cheers for your reply JKSmudge

so includes sat 2nd may thanks for that - im not sure what a walker would do, currently meeting driver at 9.30am ish on route and getting trolley topped up, and doing an extra day to make up for loss of DO hours (which I dont mind), but dont know how it will work saturday? Im in Friday and not working tomorro so only thursday left as a possible alternative but its very short notice (if they offer a swap) but got plans that day - daughter birthday, wife off too to make best of her day.

hopefully too short notice and cant be docked!

assuming I wont be asked to walk about on Saturday with parcels in my hands/trolley !

Hi Hero22

that is what I thought , makes sense starting from sat 9th, so notice can be given and rotas drawn up, but you know RM!

Its shambolic that they release a statement with no depth to it. As if people aren't stressed enough now many are wondering whats happening with their jobs. If your reducing mail on Saturday surely either hours are going to be cut or staff cut or is this a plan to help with backlog of mail etc. This should all have been communicated to us and made clear.

Had typed another sentence about rico but decided to delete it or I might be spending the week in prison lol

It's RM so yet again the info isn't totally clear, it very likely to change before Saturdays shift but you could also read it as Saturday 2nd will be the last mail delivery

Royal mail get what they want again, it was only a few weeks ago they would not give us the Saturday off after good Friday, which would of give us a four day break.
