Dont care what the public think if its about us losing our jobs , this guy is out to destroy the company and our jobs . All these photos on gate meetings , terry rants etc are no getting us anywhere. Weve put ourselves at risk big time during this and for what ? Rico and his devious plans .

I dont think non drivers will benefit like they think they will with Saturdays off. . Just spoken to a mate who's a manager and the early plan is to have them deliver locally, put out d2ds and prep duties of d2ds for monday etc

If 1st and 2nd recorded letters still have to be delivered on Saturdays then the mail will still have to be processed in MCs on Friday nights, it'll all get sequenced as normal and when it gets to DOs your going to have to deliver it or go through it and pull out the recorded letters

Makes sense for a change but there will be offices with no local delivery points, one things for sure there's going to be a lot of arguments between staffpostiewhite wrote:I dont think non drivers will benefit like they think they will with Saturdays off. . I think support would return when the public were informed that we were striking because our boss wouldn't let us deliver their letters until the following working week, and that they were using CV as a BS excuse for doing so.daveyeff wrote: so its a bad thing that the public think we are a bunch of c***s for going on strike at this time, because they are stuck in and wont get the egg whisk they ordered from china, or the l.e.d. light bulbs. meanwhile you and i and 20,000 others will lose our jobs. i don't care what the public think. all out.
I think we should just refuse to conform - carry on taking the mail on Saturdays. It would make headline news when the first postie got officially disciplined for posting letters. It would also expose the top management as psychos.

So how does the business save money then if they will all get a day off during the week that isnt Saturday?postiewhite wrote:I dont think non drivers will benefit like they think they will with Saturdays off. . How does the business save money by having people in prepping door to doors that get prepped fine as it is anyway?
Surely the savings COME from not having half the workforce in on a Saturday not bringing them in to work
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

we have some Hcts supported by a packets driver but at least 90% of deliveries are van based so unlikely unless they have some in prepping some mail/ D2ds for the following week is only way i cans see then been usedFacesOfStone wrote:Depends on where you work / what the set up is. If you have trolley / HCT duties, they could well send them out as ‘normal’ but with some of oversized items crammed in where the mail would be. Otherwise, some of those duties are going to be unmanageable on the Monday.paul1231 wrote:If you read some post on social media the public actually thing they are doing us a favour with this![]()
The realistic side of it is non drivers won't be needed saturday so suddenly been a driver becomes a punishment if you value saturdays off as you'll probably be in although maybe less saturdays then before perhaps covering 3/4 duties parcels and working maybe 1 in 3/4 saturdays?

At the moment it's not just non drivers it's van share partners. Is it really worth having them all in if there's only one van between them even if both can drive?postiewhite wrote:I dont think non drivers will benefit like they think they will with Saturdays off. . Surely the easiest plan is to have all passengers as Monday to Friday , freeing up the passenger cover during the week to do something else and the driver just has their normal day off.

Is it all about savings or is it about clearing a backlog?Acca Dacca wrote:So how does the business save money then if they will all get a day off during the week that isnt Saturday?postiewhite wrote:I dont think non drivers will benefit like they think they will with Saturdays off. . Not every office HAS a backlogA2B wrote:Is it all about savings or is it about clearing a backlog?Acca Dacca wrote:So how does the business save money then if they will all get a day off during the week that isnt Saturday?postiewhite wrote:I dont think non drivers will benefit like they think they will with Saturdays off. . but besides how does it help clear a backlog leaving mail undelivered AND still having to give non drivers a day off through the week?
If they wanted to clear the backlog they wouldnt be enforcing an overtime ban in many offices
