BT initially refused to pay people who are self isolating with a partner who has recieved the official NHS letter re;isolation,but have now relented due to CWU pressure.
The question is what are you doing CWU for posties inn the same postition ? Of which I am one.

Yes, you are quite correct about this. I'm on unpaid leave as my wife has had stem cell/bone marrow transplant also had sepsis last summer and speaking to her specialist the other day I was told doing the best thing by shielding i.e..not going into work. On 14th April 2020 the CWU wrote to Sally Ashford Chief HR Officer Royal Mail Group. Edit from that letter.
“The CWU believe that your policy needs to be extended to show compassion to the following individuals:
Those that need to isolate because they have vulnerable people in their home.
The CWU’s opinion is that all of the above should be isolating on full pay, other major employers such as BT and the Post Office now have emergency polices in place regarding full pay for such circumstances.”
24th April - The video update by terry Pullinger did not state a response to that letter to change the current stance by Royal mail on that specific policy.
Obviously the video will incorporate different issues.
I have a colleague in a similar situation as yourself and wish Royal Mail would adopt the policy of BT & the Post Office.
