Essential workers can apply to be tested from tomorrow.
I'm assuming this is a swab test and not an antibody test (which don't appear to work).
So... you would only book a test if you have the symptoms?
So... what do you do differently if it's positive?
So... what do you do differently if it's negative?
Just asking, genuinely curious as to what people's reaction would be.

Not sure if we qualify anyhoos, the Department of Smoke and Mirrors mentioned essential workers rather than key workers.

It needs to be to be of any use. You could test negative one day and then catch it a few days laternorris9 wrote:so could this be a test we all do once a week?

Where did you find that list mailman? the only one's I found didn't mention Postal workers (they were a bit vague)themailman wrote:We are on the list to get tested, mickeymacca wrote:Not sure if we qualify anyhoos, the Department of Smoke and Mirrors mentioned essential workers rather than key workers.
We are amongst the easiest people to test to meet the 100,000 a day.
It's not just about finding out if you 'have' it, it's about building a database of where the virus is in concentration.
Anybody who is working the past 5-6 weeks has the ability to spread it widely, so it's more of a duty to get tested rather than to satisfy ones curiosity.

I think that's all it is about. It's not just about finding out if you 'have' it, it's about building a database of where the virus is in concentration.
If it helps the fight against the virus I'm fine with that but it's positioned as something that it's not.
Other than letting you know you've had it the information is useless but even that information is pointless if we don't know what level of immunity you might have and for how long.

The Guardian is reporting it is key workers not essential workers, as the title says, which includes us.mickeymacca wrote:Where did you find that list mailman? the only one's I found didn't mention Postal workers (they were a bit vague)themailman wrote:We are on the list to get tested, mickeymacca wrote:Not sure if we qualify anyhoos, the Department of Smoke and Mirrors mentioned essential workers rather than key workers.

UTV Live ( ITV N Ireland ) said in their news programme at 6pm that Royal Mail staff are included on the list. Not sure what facts they have to broadcast that. ?
