Our contracted hours - are they over a set amount of days?
They are over 7 days. You are contracted in hours not days and royal mail can give you any schedule in line with business needs

They can re schedule our hours to fit business needs but and its a big BUT, Considering most of us are on long and short week rotations averaged out over 4/6 weeks you need to be aware of what hours they are asking you to do and what hours you have already done. It's not as simple as them just saying you owe us 38 hours if you are FT.
For example.
One week, My rotation is such that I only do 33:45 hours but the following week I will do 42:22 hours. Everyone in the office will also be on different stages of their rotation. Do you think a DOM or Lino is smart enough to manage that properly?
Come in, Work your hours, Go home. No more, No less.

Part timers should remember that if they move up from less than a 4-day week rota, they are entitled to the full quota of bank holiday allowance, on a pro rata basis for the period they cover four or more days.
This one had always seemed an odd one to me, work up to 3 days in RM and your bank hol allowance is pro rata compared to a 5-day week and should then be rounded up to a whole number, but work 4 or more days and you get the whole normal 8 per year on top of your basic 4.5 weeks (plus any 5+/15+/20+ year long service bonus).

Who’s told you that , if they want to vary my contracted hours there’s a period of time they have to tell me that they are doing so.Stella102 wrote:They are over 7 days. You are contracted in hours not days and royal mail can give you any schedule in line with business needs
As a full timer you’re saying they could tell me to work 12hrs 4o mind without notice over 3 days , I can’t do that and no one can be made to do that.

Do you know when this came in to our contract?Stella102 wrote:They are over 7 days. You are contracted in hours not days and royal mail can give you any schedule in line with business needs
I found this quote, is it out of date?
(Where necessary, for example when traffic volumes are unexpectedly high or resourcing issues arise, individuals may be asked and may themselves request to vary their duty times by up to 30 minutes on a swings and roundabouts basis. Individual circumstances will be taken into account and total weekly contractual hours will not change. This means that individuals may flex their duty times by up to 30 minutes on any given day and this will be balanced either way over the next 5 working days. However this period can be extended by local agreement. A local record will be kept. Any requirement to change times of attendance or flex will take into account individual's personal obligations and responsibilities)
Thanks
