Thoughts on Back’s letter to us all?
Yeah, got mine today. Lately, my spirits have been on the wane, but, after reading Rico's heartfelt call to arms, it's given me a much needed boost. Who needs a bonus, when you have a caring, compassionate man, like Rico, at the head of this great company.

Looks like another piece of RM Bullshit that'll be "Return to Sender", thanks for the heads up .... I hate opening these things thinking there might be something interesting in there.... only to find it's Bullshit!

GOOD NEWS I just read in the paper Rico is safe at his home and is running Royal Mail from there. I recall my grandad who served in the First World War telling me the officers at the rear who gave the orders but never got their hands dirty were called daffodils they looked pretty smelled nice but were yellow

I've not received Rico's letter yet. I did get my shares statement
through but not sure when that was sent as a member of the public stuck it through the letterbox.

I'm not sure how much extra revenue royal mail are getting judging by our small 5 postie office. We have two off, having received NHS 12 week isolation letters on full pay. They are paying the remaining three of us, 5 hours a day each to clear the other 2 walks. If that's replicated around the country they can't be making much !

I think the letter is an insult, it's taking the piss, he's laughing at us & especially the CWU

The last paragraph "protecting our company" seems to be setting us up for bad news by reminding us of likely UK loss, no dividend and the ongoing evaluation of the emerging threat to the financial state of the company. It is not appropiate to include this considering we are all out there risking ourselves and our families. I may be a cynic but i think RM may see this crisis as a way of pushing through their changes (it's the 2nd communication I have seen in last few weeks which has ended with a similar warning at the end).

That's a BIG Hit for a small DO: Losing 40% of your Posties.regalia25 wrote:I'm not sure how much extra revenue royal mail are getting judging by our small 5 postie office. Working in Royal Mail I think being a Cynic is probably a good stance to take.bucks123 wrote:The last paragraph "protecting our company" seems to be setting us up for bad news by reminding us of likely UK loss, no dividend and the ongoing evaluation of the emerging threat to the financial state of the company. I agree that once CV has passed Royal Mail will use it as a stick to beat us all with.
