People who are following government advice and staying home won't die.

It is key workers who are at most risk.
And now the Govt stuff has mostly been delivered in our office at least iot's back to delivering 99% parcels, d2ds and junk.

Sadly we won’t know for quite a while but I can describe some of the London mail centre’s working conditions which seem to tally with a lot of what is being posted about other mc’s, do’s and hubs:

A large percentage of 55-65 year old workers limping on to retirement with no “obvious” health conditions.

Dozens of Angard casuals who continuously change in personnel, are often desperate to work, and have no direct dialogue opportunity with RM to discuss whether they have been ill or have health needs.

Overtime junkies who work 13 hours a day who don’t really care about anything other than money

Managers, promoted above their intelligence, being briefed that their performance is still subject to review

All working side by side and on top of each other.

Half the employees travelling in on crowded public transport with other key workers who have been directly exposed to the disease.

I could go on...

I actually work at the Coventry hubs and knew the victim. My condolences to his family.

He was in his 60's and worked at the national hub.He was feeling unwell whilst at work.

Social distancing measure's have been introduced but are not effective in my opinion. This is mainly because some work areas are so confined that it's not practically possible to observe the 2m gap. Also, there are many ignorant staff who not adhering to the rule thus putting others at risk.

There are many staff off sick. I suspect (and heard) many have symptoms consistent with the virus. Until more royal mail staff are tested, there is a great danger that the virus will spread in the workplace.

Did the office get a complete deep clean irrespective of where he caught the virus?

I actually work at the international hub which is adjacent to the national hub. Therefore, I am not sure. I would expect to do so given the circumstances.

Instead, I've noticed they have hired more cleaners to regularly disinfect work areas. It will be a big task considering how vast and large the hub is.

Things don't look good and there's already many staff of sick. Something needs to be done before things escalate.

How many "football pitches" would you say it is in size?

You mean 'A' Facebook group not 'THE' Facebook group, we are not on Facebook.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We don't post links to 'over there'.

We lost an Agency staff member last week :(
I won't post his name as it hasn't been made public but he was ill at the mail centre and subsequently admitted to hospital a few days later
He subsequently died two days later
