Our depot has improved it's health and safety measures I'm pleased to say, but I'm not on social media all the time. I check the news and updates but I'm not obsessed by everything that's happening.

I work at parcel force's Coventry hubs and can confirm there has been one fatality from an employee catching the virus at the hub.

Staff were informed by a document posted by the cwu on the notice board at our work place. Lots of employers are off sick, many showing symptoms consistent with coronavirus. Managers carrying on like everythings normal, not really abiding with the social distance rule.

I personally knew and worked with the victim. He was a polish national and in his 60's. Nice bloke. My commiserations to his family.

I suspect things will get worse and there may may be more fatalities. This is because at the national hub, which is where Stefan worked, it is not easy to adhere to social distancing because there's too many workers working in a confined area or place.

Measures have been taken to enforce social distancing but weather they are effective or not remains to be seen.

The scary thing is the comments you make about it not being easy to adhere to social distancing, too many workers in too small a space and the measures that have been taken maybe not being enough probably could apply to the majority of DO’s up and down the country. I wonder how many offices, if any, operate with the entire workforce 2 metres apart at all times. It does feel like we are all playing some scary lottery at the moment where you just don’t know what the odds are that you might end up losing.

The trouble is you kinda know Royal Mails attitude to this will be, yeah, it’s a tragic loss, our sincere condolences to the families, but can you actually prove he contracted it while at work?

A colleague of mine told me he was displaying symptoms whilst at work and told his line manager he wasn't feeling well. Another women who came into contact with him is also off sick now.

Regardless of where he caught it from, the issue is the virus is spreading within the work place. This is evident from the number people off sick.

My concern is there are workes who have the virus but do not know it and are they are infecting others.

Or not contacting NHS when you've had the symptoms for too long.
You okay today?

Anyone who displays symptoms (even if they it may not be Covid-19 related) at the workplace will or should be sent hope. A few have been sent home at my workplace. Why people come into the workplace feeling unwell in the first place is beyond me.

The interview with the mother of one of the bus drivers was heartbreaking.

The last time that i was on a bus in London many years ago, all the buses had a screen between the passengers and the driver. Between that and no cash being accepted, how are they catching it?

What is PPE though in these circumstances?
We're being advised by WHO and NHS that masks are useless unless you have it or you're dealing with someone who has it.

We're being told by doctors and nurses that gloves are useless and potentially dangerous outside clinical use.

The drivers have hand sanitisers.

So what do we/they do?
