Royal Mail rejects all demands for basic coronavirus safety measures, but CWU continues to block strike
The union has some hard decisions to make, they can no longer pretend that they have any influence with a board that appears to want nothing to do with them.
Dave and Terry have decided to meet Rico head on in what appears from the outside to be more personal than it should be. This high risk strategy obviously hasn't worked. Rico seems prepared to take them on no matter the cost or the loss in staff engagement.
Where the union goes next is difficult to imagine but I think it's time for new ideas and by that I don't mean their abysmal social media strategy, it's naive, condescending and in some ways dangerous for members.
Perhaps what we need more than national officers right now is good workplace reps, good area reps and good branches. Perhaps it's time to rebuild the CWU from the ground up?
There's one thing for sure you can't remove these national officers, they protect each other, stand unopposed and promote their own chosen successors. It's probably the only closed shop left in the trade union movement but as they become more irrelevant to both the employer and the members they may get the message and move on themselves.

Social media bites men on the arse shocker.
The only ones that could not see it was them, and the Facebook wallahs.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Is the reason the union have done absolutely nothing but say the same thing over and over
Because the release time of reps around the country etc will be removed ?
Maybe they could start at the top and donate their rather large salaries to a sock fund for people on no wages through no fault of their own
Sort things out in the mean time by putting your money where your mouths are
People are losing total faith in the union
How many have contacted them and not got a response
Facebook will only get a small selection posting questions
The rest live in fear of saying anything
Answers emails ,phone calls ,letters ,pms please .
Stop the crappy hard man videos .
Action speaks louder than words ,you got your vote to protect your union ,now protect the members who are also the union ,before there is no union to cream money off for jolly’s

The dispute section is about the dispute we voted on, not every dispute.
It's traditional on RMC to have a separate section for each dispute we have - Just like the 2007, 2009/2010 dispute sections. It keeps everything organised.

Nice try but this article is intimately linked to all the other articles we have posted on the dispute. Coronavirus and the betrayal of the CWU are linked.

Sorry if I have offended you no offense was meant - I thought this was the most appropriate forum. It was as simple as that.

The article only mentions the coronavirus once in the article, the article consists of an attack on the CWU's complicity in betraying the strike. There are several articles in the dispute section that talks about coronavirus. An article entitled
Coronavirus Delays Royal Mail 'Journey 2024' Turnaround Plan has not been moved. Also, the post citing Terry Pullinger: Delivering for Those in Need is still in the dispute section why have they been kept in. I demand that you replace our article back in the dispute section where it belongs and stop this censorship.

1. Its not censorship if its still available.
2. If you think we have done something wrong approach us quietly and state your position and we will explain ours.
I am personally offended that you think I have done this for anything less than honest reasons, for claiming censorship and questioning my honesty.

Thank you for that, I did not intend to impune your motives, just little concerned because we have had problems with sites like credit who have censored our stuff, apologies for any misunderstanding

Because it's predominantly about the lack of safety measures surrounding the coranavirus and outside the fact that it's just another example of the general ethos of the company that has nothing to do with the dispute.merson01 wrote:This article has been removed from the dispute section and moved to Coronavirus news Why?.
It's an important point for the union and members to remember, we can only call industrial action on the grounds stated in the ballot paper.
Trying to tie the two issues together gives the business an easy out in court.

I have only just seen the new posts after I last posted in this topic so I will apologise now to Tebbs for this.
I would of also put the article in the Coronavirus forum and for the record no one 'demands' where each thread should go.
We will move threads to where we feel it is best suited.
We do not censor anything, even those sites/articles that bash our union.
And I am offended if anyone thinks my Admin has ulterior motives on this site.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
