5 London bus workers die any RM statistics?
Of the five London bus workers who died, three were drivers and two were controllers.
Do we have the upto date statistics on our Royal Mail colleagues?
The controllers data above is extremely small but is tending to my own suspicions for RM, the indoor work and in particular mail centres will be hit hard.

Only a matter of time, before the first postie goes. Then RM will go on about how saddened they are. But really they could not give a toss about it’s staff on the frontline. So sad for the bus drivers in London, thoughts go to their families. Just remember give distance to each other & stay safe guys.

Someone related to Royal Mail will unfortunately die, law of averages.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

All key workers are unfortunately at greater risk especially when they have children still at school, it's a double whammy.
I think it's a bit of a piss take if I'm honest especially for supermarket workers, cleaners and warehouse staff on minimum wage.

Sadly this is true.POSTMAN wrote:Someone related to Royal Mail will unfortunately die, law of averages.
A lot of posties will get the disease at some stage and some critically, but we want to lessen the possibility of that happening now at a time when ventiallators, intensive care etc are being stretched/rationed and potential treatments are still in the experimental stage (some existing drugs could possibly come into play within the next 3-4 months if effective).
My particular concern is office indoor working/mail centres where working practices has not changed enough. I fear incompetent, talentless management and inflexible posties combined with a mutual mistrust will cause unnecessary deaths.

What particularly strikes me is I am the only person in the office who washes the hands prior to eating at the break!

Almost 5000 people in the UK have died from this so far. Around 1 out of every 14000 of the population. If we were representative of the population as a whole then about 10 out of the 140,000 who work for Royal Mail would already have died due to Covid 19.POSTMAN wrote:Someone related to Royal Mail will unfortunately die, law of averages.

I was wondering, if you can remember from any of the guidelines etc, do you know if staff in an office where a person tests positive with COVID-19 will be told about this?
We questioned our manager about this and he mumbled something about patient confidentiality.

Do the buses in London still accept cash or do they only accept travel cards and Oyster cards? I though I remember reading a good while back about them stopping accepting cash

I don't think this is a particulary constructive discussion to have.
Everyone needs to remain positive and try their best to get through this crisis. We get enough statistics about the Rolling Death Toll on every TV news programme. I'm very aware of the Mental Heath Repercussions that are likely to occur during this Pandemic, and for a long time after it. Some colleagues are already showing sighs of Anxiety & Depression. Do we really need to be discussing Deaths on here?

People process differently Dorset.
Some find humour in tragedy.
Some need to know every detail.
Some prefer not to know anything.
Anxiety is a reaction to being put into a situation that you're not comfortable with.
You being the individual and comfortable being what's comforting to you.
