Very interesting to see all the diferences from area to area

Back in xmas 1991 which was my first with RM we had block overtime, now its just another happy memory of the good ol days. But xmas bonus was crap in the good ol days.

We had a meeting this morning. 18 posties ( out of 60 ) decided NOT to accept ANY SA for the pressure period and only work thier normal hours.

The rest want 3 hours per day per man ( 3.5 on saturday) or none of us do any. We also want a set time in place to sort until or there is no deal - we currently sort to clear and don't want to end up on sorting until 10 or 11 am.

Ball is in managers court.

blue shirts xmas o.t

Post by shades »

Back in the 70s in our office every person was on unlimited o/t that usually meant in at 5.52 and home at ten pm, or later the o/t rate at the time was the first 6 hours time and a third, next 6 hours time and a half, anything after 12 hours was double time.
I used to work 60 hours o/t for about three weeks on what was called outward primary you had to sort all mail manually for the whole of the u.k great job well it used to be, now totally pissed off with the way we get treated by management no thanks to the union that this year its 8.20 a day and home

As a part timer myself let me assure you we will be shafted one way or another! Thats why RM employed us as PT and said we would get made up to full time! They lied and we were shafted. Why a bonus is paid pro rata we are shafted. Why RM try to get PTs to do overtime so that we can make our money up although even if we do more hours than many full timers we dont get full Crimbo bonus, we have been done you might win a round but RM are in it for the war and at the mo they are winning. Good luck and a merry XMAS.

That because the mangerial staff think they can get away with lying to staff. My manager been promising me full time for years and each time told me i couldn't have it for one reason or another, last time he told me no was because i told his manager to F*** o** because he was taking the piss out of me. I think my manager was discriminating against me

If Royal Mail Mis-management are intent on making a balls-up of Christmas, as they make a balls-up of everything else, so be it.

My time is my own, not Royal Mail's. If they want any of my own time, they'll have to pay for it, SA rate, not on the cheap. If not, I'm quite content to
work to my time each and every single day of the pressure fortnight. :Very Happy
