theirs people in my work that have just decided to isolate themselves for 12 weeks without a letter, it was them i was wondering about , ones that have a health problem but dont qualify for a letter, ie small heart issue but not big enough to get a letter, mild asthma but not enough to get a letter but still feel vulnerable these types, anyone in that situation who never got a letter but felt they needed to go off and are getting paid 12 weeks

That wouldn't automatically qualify for paid leave.bowie wrote:We have a guy in our office who is off for 12 weeks as his wife got a letter from the nhs as she is recovering from cancer so he will get payed

Carers do not get 12 weeks pay!! They get 2 thats it. I think your colleague is in for a major shock.
I know of at least 2 cases where Rm is refusing to do this. The people in question went sick with stress. It’s a national disgrace but I would expect nothing less off this shower.

7 days self isolation if you have symptoms, 14 days if someone else in your household has symptoms, should not be counted towards attendance procedure.endofdays1982 wrote:my manager said if i go off it would go down to attendance procedure going off self isolating is this true or could it be challenged?
If someone else in your household is vulnerable you can take annual leave or special leave unpaid so wouldn’t count towards attendance procedure.

7 days if you have symptoms, it won't go on attendance and you get paid.
14 days if someone else in your household has symptoms. (Doesn't matter if it's mild or you're not sure, better safe than sorry)
Get an automatic note 14 day note from the NHS emailed to you here, then it won't count towards attendance and you will be paid.

Tractorboy2 you’re right I’m wrong I’m getting full pay because I’ve got 6 months at full pay left of my sick pay entitlement, please accept my sincere apologiestractorboy2 wrote:Your last sentence isn't true.geordieboy123 wrote:12 week people are the extremely vulnerable group who received the nhs letter, they are on full payendofdays1982 wrote:theirs people in my work that have just decided to isolate themselves for 12 weeks without a letter, it was them i was wondering about , ones that have a health problem but dont qualify for a letter, ie small heart issue but not big enough to get a letter, mild asthma but not enough to get a letter but still feel vulnerable these types, anyone in that situation who never got a letter but felt they needed to go off and are getting paid 12 weeks
The vulnerable group ie the diabetics, asthma sufferers and heart disease sufferers are off until the government guidelines change ie several more weeks are on full pay

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I’ve had the letter, 12 weeks off (minimum) full pay, had to send copy of letter, but no questions asked
