the best DOs are running at somewhere between 50 and 75 % staffing at the moment SpacePhoenix there is plenty of work in DOs we can't get it all out every day.

Just like the test kits they will give that job to Amazon, Jeff can bribe the politicians to get what he wants.kookoo32 wrote:A three day week? On full pay? Never going to happen. And as for partnering up with the Government as a vital service - who is to say they want us.

Jeff could one day be our boss - RM share price so low I wouldn't rule out Amazon trying to buy it on the cheap.twiddledumb wrote:Just like the test kits they will give that job to Amazon, Jeff can bribe the politicians to get what he wants.kookoo32 wrote:A three day week? we are currently operating this system ! i go in tue , thur and sat. i prep both mine and my partners walk , but only take mine out and my partners knock ons. he does mon, wed and friday and does the same. it means we are in at 6am and have 2 days mail but at least we get 4 days off and no one prepping behind or next to us. seems to work ok at present and with full pay !daveyeff wrote:if we go to 3 days a week, it doesn't say if we will get full pay. though i doubt it very much if we did.

So I guess the ones coming in at nine have their delivery fully prepped up to just go and deliver, if they're getting back at 1? How have you got any mail at 6.30 as well?FilthyBloke wrote:Our office has pretty much half the staff starting at 6.30 and then the other half coming in at 9 when the 6.30 staff have already gone out.
We deliver d2ds where we are going but with the reduced mail atm even the 9am lot are finished by 1.
I prefer that to half pay and working 3 days.

I believe we cleared our office today. I dont know if i have read this right, they want us to work for three days at three days pay for doing double work on each day worked(dont they realize packets are at Christmas levels) does this mean that the people on 12 weeks isolation will get there pay cut to three days a week and the public can stay at home and get 80% of there wages for stopping in seems quite unfair to me.
I am quite happy working as we have gloves and sanitizer and people keep their distance, everything i handle i treat like its contagious and sanitize my gloves after every loop(if someone comes to the door coughing i am literally 20 feet away by the door opening !!!!!

Not even the CWU is daft enough to float the idea that we all go down to 3 days pay.
This is a different daft idea, that the business pays us the same money for working 3 days.

Yamr1 wrote:Small company's can pay staff 12 weeks wages to sit in the house , I think rmg can afford it plus were still working on top of that ....
Really? I doubt many small companies can do that. As others have said the best outcome is 6 -2 & say 12-8 split across the DO. That pretty much negates any of the problems regarding too many people in a small space, solves the 1 man 1 van scenario, keeps the service to the public and ensures everyone gets their full wage. Not sure how many will survive on 60% for weeks on end and it’ll seem unfair that you’ll be working for the said 60% while others do nothing for 80%.

This is how I see it to mate, 3 days equals either, Monday,Wednesday, friday or Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, either way the day your in you take 2 days mail out and get full pay, simples. It's all about having less people in the offices at the same time.CRIBMAD wrote:we are currently operating this system ! i go in tue , thur and sat. i prep both mine and my partners walk , but only take mine out and my partners knock ons. he does mon, wed and friday and does the same. it means we are in at 6am and have 2 days mail but at least we get 4 days off and no one prepping behind or next to us. seems to work ok at present and with full pay !daveyeff wrote:if we go to 3 days a week, it doesn't say if we will get full pay. though i doubt it very much if we did.
