Reminds me of the Blackadder Geoffrey Palmer, Kitchener sketch, when he tells Blackadder to put his pants on his head and pencils up his nose to make them think he is mad. Blackadder knew that was pointless too.

The people coming up with this have surely never been on delivery or even in a DO! This Kev has an MBA (Master of Business Administration degree) and yet comes up with this silly s**t. It's laughable. Says it all really.
All of the advice and changes that have been implemented by RM have come from us FIRST having being mentioned weeks before being implemented by the Kevins of this company. I mentioned to my DOM what we should be doing (Taking chairs out of the rec room and spacing them, Encouraging people to take breaks out of the office, staggered start times, Propping open all the doors, Telling everyone upon entry to go and wash their hands, Taking the sign on sheet away so no risk of sharing the pen that is left with it) and low and behold the next day it was all implemented and in a brief "HE came up with it"
Give it time and they will have an epiphany that all D2D and marketing mail should be suspended/held back and we should have to thank them for their wisdom!
It US OPG's on the shop floor that run this company and make it happen. We know what works and what doesn't. They just take the credit for it. Yet they think we are all lazy lying shysters!

RM's message on D2Ds during the lockdown:
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Don't have a pop at Senior Management. The government guidelines are if you can work from home you should. What (more) could/would they do at work than what they can do at home. It's cheaper and safer for them using their own kettle rather than using the drinks machine aswell.

I like this idea of "warm calling" - that guy is a genius as I bet no one who has ever done the job has ever thought of that before. Talk about patronising the s**t out of your staff!!!

Royal Mail
failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.

As a union plus our non-union members in depots we should call their bluff next Monday, prep every single D2D in the frame including the "Boris letter" (that must be delivered by Thursday), gasp at how much time it's taken and then approach managers to explain we have unexplainedly developed a severe over-running procedure problem (even worse than it has been) where we aren't prepared to go over our time. The backlog of all other mail will be collosal during two consecutive bank holiday weeks, these geniuses haven't got a clue about the practicality and time consuming process of prepping ~600+ slots on a frame, especially when dealing with multiple D2D!
