Door 2 Doors during deadly pandemic
The CWU seem to think its acceptable for Door 2 Doors to continue during this deadly outbreak. they say that postal workers should prep them all in on monday. in my opinion this does not work because
A. It keeps postal workers in an unsafe environment for longer
and
B. what if you have 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 or even 7 door 2 doors to prep
CWU have let the workforce down on this in a massive and possibly catastrophic way.

Cheers miles - that's never reached us, poor communication by RM and CWU (in my area anyway). The only info we had was to delivermiles_peters wrote:https://www.facebook.com/CWUGlasgow/pos ... 4146755540" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;yellowbelly wrote:Can anybody provide a link to the bulletin or video that has stated 'put them all in on a Monday' please?miles_peters wrote:The CWU........ they say that postal workers should prep them all in on monday. in my opinion this does not work because

Has the CWU agreed this? I can’t believe they have. That looks like just an unagree directive from R M.

There's a lot that CWU haven't agreed to (using private vehicles to get to delivery loop starts for example) but CWU can onlyPJ101 wrote:Has the CWU agreed this? I can’t believe they have. That looks like just an agreed directive from R M.
'protest and/or disagree in the strongest terms and insist it's only temporary' by the looks of it........

We had a communication from RM saying that from next week "Households" would be stopped. It's got Bugger All to do with the CWU ... He who pays the piper calls the tune.
We may not like it but we don't see the BIG picture. I'm sure if RM didn't deliver a contract that had already been paid for by the Customer they'd be dragged through the courts and be made to pay compensation. A lot of Posties are suggesting working practices that are well above their paygrade, although I recognise this is a "Discussion Forum". The Bottom Line is if you're not happy with the situation you can go home and self isolate. Deal with any consequences when the crisis has passed. Nobody really knows what's going to happen long term. Boris may very well tell RM to cease operations if he feels it necessary..... Who knows .... Not me.

You just take where you are going.

I don't agree with this procedure (or delivering D2D at all in this current situation), but as the 'directive' states just deliver2yearpostie wrote:thata all well and good but what if your a reserve on a different walk each day?
where you're going with addressed (incidentally does that include 'To the householder, 25 Acacia Avenue?). If you think you're going
to go over your time because of this crap, advise your manager that you'll be claiming it as OT or work to your time.....

WE. SHOULD. NOT. BE. DELIVERING. THIS. S**T
Sorry for shouting.

Correct. On the plus side door 2 doors are going to continue to drop off sharply as businesses cut costs. In a couple of weeks when I expect the govt to order the closure of non essential businesses, not just shops, we can expect to be twiddling our thumbs.Dorset Plodder wrote:We had a communication from RM saying that from next week "Households" would be stopped. Well the only way to get D2D to stop is to be social media savvy...

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

the problem is if i follow the rules and put round a's d2ds in on monday and take where im going but on tues duty holder of round b hasnt put any in forcing me to so i dont get disciplined, then on wednesday duty holder of round c has only been doing column by column, the poor reserve is going to be putting an unfair amount of d2ds in or face a bollocking..clashcityrocker wrote:What is the problem?2yearpostie wrote:thata all well and good but what if your a reserve on a different walk each day?
