Gloves do very little to protect you (the virus lives there, same as your hands). Unless you wash them or change them frequently - ideally every time you touch something.

Well it does make me alot less likely to put my fingers in my eyes or mouth or anywhere on my face, so yes gloves do make a difference IMO.

I’m growing more and more suspicious of ‘official information’ from the likes of PHE.

They downgraded the virus on the 19th for not being as dangerous or contagious as they first thought, meaning it can now be treated in non-specialised care units with less safe guards (read as cheaper)

But increasingly the maths don’t add up. The mortality rate is accelerating, non-official but highly qualified advice is telling us that worse is yet to come, they are building 10 emergency hospitals the size of NHS Nightingale and are trying to work out how to deal with the dead (China cremated them but it make the air so dangerous they stopped)

The whole response seems tilted towards greed more than safety now and I think we have reached the point we’re you need to look after number one and make our own mind up what we as individuals are going to do. If safety was the highest priority a full lockdown would be in place in my opinion.

The government is quite happy to let the situation get worse before they impose stricter measures. Its like they have accepted that thousands of people will die in building these hospitals. To me,key workers are those who work in the NHS,police and fire service. Supermarkets and pharmacies can deliver food and health supplies in this online age as its clear that many people cannot shop responsibly. I don't think most of what we deliver is essential and we should be running our business on a skeleton staff, but while the government is giving us more work to go out with,they obviously dont think the virus lives on paper.

I'm fairly sure the government doesn't care whether or not it lives on paper. We're probably one of the last remaining employers that is keeping the economy in any way alive. The death of a few postmen simply doesn't matter much on a governmental scale. It's the same with NHS workers and Supermarket workers. In the final death tolls, key worker groups will be disproportionately affected. Somebody in government will come out with some eulogy or other for us and our brave service. Then it'll be back to being s**t on from a great height.

Supermarket don't have anywhere near the capacity for that volume of home deliveries. It was mentioned on the news within the last couple of days that supermarkets are encouraging people to shop in store as their home delivery services can't keep up with demand

Maybe so. But considering all the profits that supermarkets have been making recently they should be giving something back. We haven't got rationing in place so how about discounts to either key workers or free deliveries to pensioners perhaps??

Paper paper paper
I am a full time collection driver and with so many people working from home. Post boxes are still quit full. Not just letters but packets too. Not just paper, plastic too, and office type window envelopes. Then there is the lick and stick cards, as people cannot visit love one. All this mail is very fresh.
How can you wash your hands when out at post boxes? Still No sign of any sanitizer or wipes! I do have some gloves.
Monday I start collecting the Coronavirus test kits from the priority boxes. Mix with other mail. will I have sanitizer or wipes by then.

So how safe is fresh post box mail!!!!!

Update local processing office got a nice 250ml bottle of Hand jelly sanitizer. After asking about in the Delivery office. They had sanitizer but had for got about the full time collection staff.

Ok did get a bottle. But not Hand Jelly Sanitizer. We got 50ml bottle of Sanitizer liquid. Then a friend pointed out "that stuff is for cleaning Vap machines!” Still better that nothing, almost. Taking the small bottle with me on my collection it fell over and when I went to use the unopened bottle half had already leaked out. And it does not spread, it evaporates before you can cover your hands.

Cheap waste of money.

If we are all of sick will they care then?
or keep tell us this is safe
