You can only get it after seven days. If management say otherwise tell them they are wrong. Days 1-7 are covered by self-certification.

This is not correct you must get an isolation note on day one of your symptoms or if someone in your house has symptoms.

If you have the symptoms it will cover you for 7 days, if it is someone in your household it will cover you for 14 days.

The guidelines tell you that you should only isolate for 7 days from the first day you get the symptoms.

So you download it and then what?

Is it not ok to just ring in and say you have symptoms and are self isolating? Surely thats fine? Or even just a text?

You get asked about five really simple questions and then it emails the note to you/whoever you choose and you download it as a PDF document.

Just call manager when you know you’re not going in, then tell them you’ll send them the note.

Get isolation note first before doing anything (to assure you qualify)

Ring in, tell them you have been told through NHS site to self isolate for whatever reason you have.

DOM will ring just as you start to forget about all your work life problems, so as to remind you their still looking to screw you somehow .

Email DOM isolation note, CC in union rep (if yours isn’t shite)

DONE

Let me get this straight.

You can use self certicate for 7 days but you can't use the isolation note for a further 7 days ?

Again this is wrong advice.

If you have symptoms you go through the NHS system and it will prompt you to get an isolation note.

This isolation note will cover the 7 days you need to isolate, you only need to isolate for 7 days after the symptoms first appear, if you still have symptoms (other than a cough) or your symptoms worsen after 7 days you must contact NHS111, they will give you guidance on what to do next.

If someone in your house has symptoms you go through the NHS system and again it will prompt you to get an isolation note and this one will cover you for 14 days or 7 days after the first symptoms appear.

You can only isolate for 7 days after the symptoms appear, after that you are not considered contagious and are not covered by an isolation note.

You can of course still be sick after the isolation period but that is a different position than isolation and you need to contact NHS111.
