Jesus wept, this is a masterclass in veering off topic into the entirely irrelevant but I will explain...

Doleys... Like the young tattooed fellow who started chatting to me only this afternoon in the queue with his 12 pack of lagers telling me ''I'm alright mate, got me essential supplies for the afternoon in the garden'' I asked him was he currently furloughed and he gave me me a funny look obviously didn't have a clue what I was talking about, when I explained he said ''nah not me mate I don't work cos of me social anxiety''

My apologies, I didn't realise you were one of those people that refuses to acknowledge that some people choose to be on benefits and are, at the very least, gaming the (highly flawed) benefits system if not actually committing out and out fraud

And for the record I happen to think that benefits should actually be far more generous than they currently are... for people who are genuinely deserving of them and find themselves needing to claim them through no fault of their own and with no other option.

Unfortunately from what I can see those genuine claimants are far outnumbered by people who use benefits as a lifestyle choice and are capable of gaming the system at best or committing out and out fraud at worst.

On topic, if our office was on fire it would actually be less dangerous. Only those inside would die.

Social distancing is being ignored and it isn’t due to not being told; it just isn’t being enforced. Many posties are ignoring it indoors and management turn a blind eye.

Our office the same , nearly no-one wearing any PPE , manager and rep not enforcing it , if you don't feel safe in office , for indoor work , then you will get more outdoor work to make up hours !!!! You couldn't make this up , all this with no toilet facilities, as everywhere is shut !

No, you are generalising. It's no better than saying all posties are lazy. A common trope on the internet. Or that we all docket and run off etc. Some do but the vast majority don't.

These people you are talking about and they do exist are far outweighed by the worthy. These people are also unemployable by and large. Where would you have them working. I deliver to some right feckless, dirty scroungers. How much better off do you think you would be if we stopped their payments all together? The answer would be pence. Considering how much of the tax we contribute actually goes to this group you talk about.

Thats £877 of my tax going on welfare.
1% of that welfare budget goes on unemployment (Job seekers, universal credit etc)

Half? £4.39. £0.08 a week.
20%? £1.75. A YEAR! £0.03 a week.

Or are we considering people on disability a piss takers as well?

17% of 877 is £149. A YEAR!
£2.87 a week.

How many are piss takers?
Half? £75. £1.44 a week.
20%? £30! A YEAR!! £0.58 a week.

Now consider that the percentage of people you think are taking the piss is probably much lower than 20% the figures really are irrelevant to our pay packet.

I feel the same. Not had any reps talk to us since our gate meeting before the ballot last year.

I’ve no doubt RM will push through their changes after we’ve got through coronavirus, few of us will be in a financial position to argue, and opportunities to find new jobs will be scarce. Then I’d expect people to leave the union.

The last year or so has been own goal after own goal.

Holiday pay - there should’ve been joint action against RM, instead of asking us individually to claim.

Ballot 1 - I don’t care who’s fault it is it was dismissed, the union should’ve hired the best solicitors in the land to ensure everything was legally sound.

Ballot 2 - Why come out with the rubbish about offering us as the 4th emergency service? I never saw a tick box for that on my ballot paper.

The virus - Walk out and we’ll support you. Wishy washy statements. No, how about you tell Rico and co what needs to be sorted to protect our health or we’ll all walk.

This is a huge letdown. And before anyone says why don’t I offer my services as a rep if I can do a better job - I can’t drive buses but if my bus driver ran over someone, kept going, hit a few cars, drove the wrong way up the dual carriageway I think we’d all have something to say about it
