Still 2 in van

So yesterday after union insisted on single van duties people walked to there first call but some where seen coming back in van and being dropped off round the corner from the office,we also had a guy in hct dropped off at his first call as he said there was no way he was walking that far away,this is an absolute disgrace and no one especially the manager who knew about It just turned a blind eye, how do we stop this and can I refuse to work unless this is stopped.

You can't refuse to work because someone else is being stupid unless that stupidity directly or indirectly puts you at risk.

I would contact the union though at info@cwu.org stating the name of your office.

Are the guidelines for the larger 3-seater vans any different? Our manager is still sending these out with 2 people for deliveries and to drop off HCT walks as long as the middle seat is empty.

The government guidelines are 2 metres distance, unless one of you is strapped to the outside it doesn't matter if it's a two seater, a three seater or a 5 seater, you can't get that kind of distance in a vehicle. That's before you consider the issue of any confined space sharing the same air.

Who would have thought the police would have been given the power to actually do anything about it, including fining people and using force to drag people back to their house to isolate.

why are you doing this you all need to stand your ground on theses issues 2 in a van should not be happening anywhere ..... just tell your dom to bolt your not doing it ....what can he do sweet fa send you home thats a god send please use that thats between your ears better still tell him/her to get in the van with you they are really clueless ....if it continues get the office behind you and walk out makes me really wonder what your all more scared of rm/managers or this virus

According to our Dom it’s ok for him to drive guys with hcts to start of delivery in a transit with 3 seats, I challenged him today and he says it’s fine stop overreacting! Problem is the guy he dropped off is struggling with knee and back problems so he doesn’t want him to walk to start of delivery, so the manager has taken it on himself is this allowed because there is no way it’s 2 metre gap?

He is a complete one for sure and has a total disregard to health and safety, despite Union pushing him on this, a few of us are fed up with him and need to get Union involved again before it’s too late.Its a serious disregard to our safety and I believe he should be in serious trouble for this and ignoring the fact that some guys are actually picking up ther partners up the road from the office , this is how it can spread and by the sounds of it it’s going to get a lot worse thanks to people like him

people in our place are still 2 in a van , they say that one of them is walking to the first loop when in actual fact the driver is picking his partner up around the corner from the office ! managers and union turning a blind eye. No respect for anyone else's safety INCLUDING their own wife and kids ! DISGRACEFUL , i hope they catch it to be honest !
