No just half the workforce
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

With people not able to go out you may we'll see an increase in parcels as people are home and bored and really like the look of that new toaster....

Crazy amount of parcels at present. Currently we have loads off sick so alternating 2 walks between 1 person. No-one allowed to work overtime... today I brought back about a quarter of a walk. Tomorrow I will do my usual walk with 2 days worth of mail and parcels. it's getting difficult actually working round the backlog of stuff at the frames..... feel more frazzled than i was last xmas.

Everyone will be paid in the next few days, meaning they will continue to buy meaningless crap which we will have to deliver, because apparently we are the 4th emergency service.

In your situation they could make life much easier by admitting defeat and saying take half your walk, leave the rest in the frame which will be delivered the next day and take 2 days worth each day. It saves all the time wasted bundling up and then re prepping mail that isn't getting delivered.

Ah - but that's a reasoned and well-thought out solution.... RM managers' logic is somewhat differentPostie45 wrote:In your situation they could make life much easier by admitting defeat and saying take half your walk, leave the rest in the frame which will be delivered the next day and take 2 days worth each day. Next, River Island and Net - A - Porter all stopping online orders to protect their staff working in the warehouses. You would hope more companies will do the same as things get progressively worse and more dangerous. We all probably recognise a need to maintain a delivery service for essential items but the more companies that sell non essential stuff that temporarily close down the better.

If it's left in the frame its classed as live mail and counts as a more substantial failure than if its left in a box. Just prep your round up until a certain time that you know you can complete your outdoor work, prioritize by class the incoming mail and parcels during prep and leave the rest to tick over until you can start absorbing it.

Isn't all that completely irrelevant at the moment? (it should be) that's why I consistently say RM actually don't care at all about our well being.sirchewey wrote:If it's left in the frame its classed as live mail and counts as a more substantial failure than if its left in a box.

Staff in my unit are sick with symptoms of Covid-19 / self-isolating which has created a resourcing shortfall and I have failed service. How should I report this?

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Postboxes still have a decent amount of mail in them. Parcels should maintain or increase, likely increase.

Relevant because of the status quo and those in charge sitting on their hands, where are the leaders at RM, union and regulators ? Putting uso above people's health is a disgrace at this current time.SpacePhoenix wrote: Still relevant unless the USO gets suspended or relaxed

All working from home.
