Unfortunately this is not just happening in royal mail and all companies have these sort of boneheaded idiots who's personal hygiene in normal life leave a lot to be desired I was in Tesco car park on late Monday night as I was getting out of my car and a young lad started spitting on the ground just infront of my car because he didn't like the food he had just shoved in his gob! these dirty b@$*@$s unfortunately are all around us

they dont give a f**k about our safety and the public are just as bad
Keep saying it... it wouldn't be so bad if we were delivering real 'essential' items... i.e. food parcels, pharmaceuticals, for the vulnerable and at risk members of the public... hell I'd even work more hours...it's just the utter and complete 'crap' we're still delivering now. I feel 'devalued' compared to Amazon and those 500,000k+ volunteers requested by the government.

But it would be as bad though - it would be exactly the same.
It's the conditions that is the issue, not what we're delivering.
Might be better because RM could cut everyone’s hours and have less staff in at a time
Also it does make a difference to what we're delivering. For the same reason NHS workers have to risk their health as their work is more essential vs why sports direct got told to close it's stores.
To risk people's health over pizza leaflets and DVDs is an outrage, we should be delivering vital services only.
I don't work at my local DO, but I've had no mail this week and I know stuff was posted out to me on Sat and Monday, so I can only assume they have a major staffing crisis. I'm not personally bothered about my mail as it's only birthday cards and payslips, certainly not essential mail.
I walked this morning at 7:10, posties stood side by side on IP, no cleaner, so no soap in toilets, only one manager in, the rest self isolating or working from home? Both union reps no where to be seen, line manager been phoning & texting all day which I’ve ignored, told another postie left just after me.
All the supermarkets in my area now operating a one in one out policy... If I'm such a highly valued and important ''key worker'' how come I've now got to stand in a queue for 30 minutes behind pensioners, doleys and people on furlough who all currently have all the time in the world to do their shopping after Iv'e just done an 8 hour shift?

I am surprised there isn't a time slot for key workers only yet.
