Amazon UK to be paid to deliver coronavirus test kits

Amazon as well as pharmacies are selling these but are they definitely delivering them too or will they just come to us to deliver ? At moment in our office amazon stuff has went through the roof

I was hoping this country would wake up to where all the money goes given how bad things are getting. But just don't see it, i feel like the government will continue to blag it, act slowly, and carry on without any backlash from the public. And corporations such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft and Apple get away with hording endless money.

Amazon have some medical service or something planned also.

The fact that these kits are available to purchase by the public is disgusting. It should be a requirement for every company with X (large) amount of employees are required to purchase them from the NHS and send via RM.

The antibody test is not ready yet.
The main problem with an antibody test is that it takes 7-10 days after you've had the virus before your body creates enough antibodies to show up in the test. That means you'll be back in circulation before you know if you've had it.

We don't know if this virus results in immunity. We don't know how long immunity will last, it may be less than a year as it is with the most common coronavirus.

Only on the bit that loses money, the final mile and that's only because anyone who tried it... lost money.
Everything else is open to competition.

We cannot cope with what we have with people going sick due to isolation and not being happy with working conditions.
nearly a third sick in my office alone, walks left for days. If we're not careful we could finish Royal Mail off once and for all and this time next year be in a real crap job with zero hour contracts if your lucky enough to get another job.worrying times ahead

That's because the company is focused on making money, not prioritising mail or packets or the health of the public. If only a 3rd of your office is sick, you could easily still cover multiple rounds by prioritising. We have automated equipment that could easily filter and distribute. A few items per road is hardly difficult in my experience.

I respect your opinion, but personally disagree with RM being filled with zero hour contracts. They have to comply with Ofcom's 6 day a week delivery. With brexit probably being pushed out the door, people not wanting to migrate here or will leave if pound vs euro becomes 1:1, foot delivery being physically hard, RM won't cope because it just won't be able to get the staff or hold on to them. I'm not confident on RM being able to survive (increased growth), however the continued gap between rich and poor would/will increase irrelevant of brexit and coronavirus, corporations are the real issue i believe.

I guess spitting into a vial and then mailing it off in a small pre-paid box still works as a business model.
