The CWU saves the day
The CWU called for social distancing - and we’ve seen that implemented across the UK
The CWU called for extra PPE - and RM have bought 2 million pairs of gloves and 200,000 sanitizers
The CWU demanded an end to shared vans - RM have banned this
The CWU today called for an end to D2D during this period - RM have agreed that it will only be delivered if you have other mail for the address.
Our local reps and branches have done some amazing work in the last days.
BUT WE KNOW THE SITUATION ACROSS THE UK IS HIGHLY VARIED. THE ADVICE WE HAVE ISSUED AS A UNION COULD NOT BE ANY CLEARER. IF YOUR UNIT HAS NOT IMPLEMENTED THE ABOVE AND YOU DO NOT FEEL IT IS SAFE TO WORK THEN WE WILL SUPPORT YOU IF YOU DO NOT WORK ON THESE GROUNDS.
We know you want to be safe and that is our highest priority. Our next priority is to protect your jobs.
Things are hugely tense at the minute but this union is fighting your corner from our local reps to our national officers. Any anger must be directed at Royal Mail.
CWU have said this about some of you...
I mean one of the things that we have been getting a lot of criticism and some of it I think probably, well most of it probably, unfair is members have been tagging the union and the company together in its response to this crisis.
We have agreed with the company to send them a list of offices ( On Facebook ) where the 2 metre social distancing has not been implemented and they have agreed to act on this immediately

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

What is truly shocking is the huge volume of posties naming offices with no gloves, sanitizers, wipes and no social distancing.Spartacus wrote:Wow, that really is the definition of hubris, that is a shocking statement.

Our office has up to 7 D2D this week, the time spent throwing them off every day is what needs to be removed. Less time in the office is what is needed!
The number of offices currently mentioned on Facebook as NOT having all the above is well over 400 as I type this.
Clueless CWU so far out of touch with reality in the average office!

failing the workforce, failing the public and deliberately failing mail on a daily basis for too many years.

It's petulant and overly defensive. It's also trying to take credit for changes that were forced on the company by government.Spartacus wrote:Wow, that really is the definition of hubris, that is a shocking statement.
There does seem to be an increase in paranoia in Wimbledon.

Of course and how out of touch are the CWU leaders to think they've turned things round, they pay more heed to the weasel words of Royal Mail than they do their members.barrychuckle wrote:What is truly shocking is the huge volume of posties naming offices with no gloves, sanitizers, wipes and no social distancing.Spartacus wrote:Wow, that really is the definition of hubris, that is a shocking statement.

The CWU are a corrupt organisation .
Sick of hearing them bleating a lot of nonsense and not actually doing anything constructive to help the postmen.

Why the f**k are we still all paying subs for these set of business enablers who have zero concern for their own membership?
Putting a box of f***ing gloves out(that are too small) whilst Billy the moron coughs all over half a dozen colleagues who was self isolating but has come in early as the manager says it's only a cold is f***ing disgusting.

Heard one D.O in the constituency of the Secretary of State for Housing , Communities and Local Government had to email him direct to get anything done within the D.O. In all fairness his office replied straight away wanting clarification on the situation.
