trying to force us to work 2-8pm..

..to cut down on the numbers in the office/utilise vans, however im unable to do it. Where do i stand?

they can’t force you but they can ask,they are changing things in my office from tomorrow only to happy to go in later if it helps

check your contract. i'm 25hr part time any time between 7am-7pm. at least with the clocks changing soon it won't be dark.

How are they trying to force You? What was said exactly?

due to operational reason they need to set up a rota next week where some of the office go on delivery from 2-8pm for one day each next week (mon-sat), (ie bob sue and rodger do monday, jim phil and nazir do tues etc) ,which i know sounds fair but due to caring duties i really cant do it.

Ours want three 12 hours shifts 3 days off
Non drivers working from home delivering on foot for upto 6 hours pmsl... Seriously pushing members out on the street when even more at risk is jaw dropping considering

Yes but if You are looking after Your children let’s say then it no longer is a reasonable request. As someone else said they can ask You but not spring it just on You with no notice.

i feel lucky to have a job right now so will do whatever it takes to get through this.

both my wife (accountancy firm) and son (oil/fluid services company) have both received communications today indicating they could be moved onto furlough pay soon but that if things do not improve in the medium term then their jobs could be at risk.

What's unreasonable about it? plenty of folk do.

Now you or I may not wish to work 2-8, but that's not the same as it being an unreasonable request in extraordinary circumstances (which these are).
